  Faith without works is dead but I agree works can only be performed by opening oneself and surrendering to the Holy Spirit and His outpouring of grace. Without grace ( pure gift) man can do nothing on his own. Works reflect and confirm the gift of faith.

  All the modern Popes and even some going back have recognized Christ’s redeeming act for all men.

  Why do people discount the mean spirited rhetoric coming from the Left? It seems to me that the Left doesn’t get the coverage by the MSM when it comes to the personnal attacks directed at conservative Republicans. One commentator said she left the Republican Party after hearing objectional verbal attacks on the Left. It got me to thinking about where she gets her news. I believe from the 3 major Left wing media television so-called newcasters. My suggestion is for her to expand her news sources. The country and its horrible record in economic and social conditions speaks for itself. For that matter, the entire country is about to collapse morally, economically, physically, and mentally as reflected in the research data being reported.

  Couldn’t agree with you more! Most of the Catholics I know are uninformed voters. In addition only 30% attend Sunday Mass regularly and the last time they read anything about their Faith was back in elementary (Grammar) school. They have no adult mature understanding of what it means to be a Catholic. They get challenged and have no answers to those who attack their beliefs.

  Bill is correct simply because using your Faith to defend your position against gay marriage in a secular society of separation of church and state will persuade no one. Religious confictions are based on belief which is an opinion not all hold. O’Reilly was making this point and wanted people to use the research data that demonstrated the need for a Father in the home, masculine role model, etc.

  Your judgements are out of line and extremely offensive. To add to that you know very little about the Catholic Church. There are 1.2 billion Catholics throughout the world. Do you think God may have a Divine Plan that includes Catholics. Incidently, all of the Christian denominations and non denominational churches make up the Body of Christ in that they share a part of the truth. The Catholic Church, the one, holy, apostalic, and universal church was founder by Jesus Christ in 33 AD. Who founded the other 30 thousand non catholic Christian churches and in what year? The most dangerous people are people who think they know what they talk about. Please learn about the Catholic Church before you assume to speak with authority. You are promulgating the distortions and untruths. The Catholic Church has more than two thousand years of experience which can be translated into wisdom gleaned by the leadings of the Holy Spirit.

  Jesus died for all humanity. The Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth and represents all humanity. Those already in the Body of Christ and all those he and all the disciples of Jesus are trying to evangelize into the fold. We all should be praying for the Muslims to evolve in their belief to recognize non believers with love not death. Their Koran must be reinterpreted so as to define a jihad as an individual’s internal struggle not the killing of innocent people who do not prctice Islam. The Pope is reaching out to all humanity and is so doing by example, by his actions, not just his words.

  That would be a disaster for the conservative Republican party. Stop watering down the principles to compete with the secularists in and out of the party. We win when we adhere to the founding principles which do not include a litmus test on same sex marriage. Look at the last two presidential elections and ask yourself why the party lost? The country is still conservative and are waking up even if the MSM refuses to do its job without left wing bias.

  John the Baptist preach repentance and a baptism of water. Jesus who founded His Church on the Rock of Peter, preached the Gospel of repentance and a baptism of water and the Holy Spirit.
