  Not to let facts get in the way, but hockey tv ratings have been increasing quite a bit in the past years. And this is also an AHL game, not an NHL game, therefore not televised nationally. You don’t see these in the NHL anymore.

  You aren’t covered “head to toe” in pads. You’ll notice they drop gloves, because if you punch with gloves on you’ll break your wrist, and if you have a helmet with a shield you take it off. Plus, as opposed to a giving floor of “the octagon” ice is not giving, and doesn’t exactly give sure footing. As for body blows, your shoulders are covered with pads, but your mid section (where body blows would land) is not.

  No Break via ESPN: Rhymes had X-rays taken on his arm at Tropicana Field and the results came back negative.
  “I’m shocked,” Rhymes said of the results. “Morales throws 95-96 and that one was pretty firm and it hit me right on the bone because I kind of turned into it. It literally hit me square on the bone. They say it’s one of the strongest bones in the body, so thank God for that.

  It is too easy to blame video games. I am in my late 20s play video games and watch movies that would be deemed violent. However, there is a disconnect between fantasy and reality. Playing those games and watching those movies doesn’t make me any more desensitized to violence or make me want to commit any violent acts. When something is real you view it completely different. My parents were involved and monitored what I played/watched when I was younger, so that would differ me from others, but you can’t just blame violent games and movies. If it was only down to those then every young kid would be jumping out of a window thinking they can fly because they saw it in some movie.
