  Seemed light-weight to me, like Salon. Just dismissing things. Major discrepancies remain: no bodies, no blood, no bullets, no video, no photos, no tears.

  There wasn’t a typical medical response, rushing people to the ER. In fact, all the bodies or most of them were kept inside the school. That’s bizarre. Indeed, there’s no video of kids being evacuated from school. 500 kids went where?

  This frames our dilemma very well.
  If Pete is telling the truth. then the officials in Newtown are the dumbest, most incompetent people on the planet. They created 100′s of weird discrepancies so that half the country thinks there was a plot of some kind.
  Could they be this dumb? Could they be so creatively inept?…Hard to believe.
  And once you rule that out, then you start to think, well, maybe they’re not incompetent, just evil.

  That’s where a lot of people are now.

  Krauthammer suggests a beautiful irony. The media’s relentless bias and obscene coddling warped the Administration’s judgment. Coddled in the past, why shouldn’t they be coddled in the future?

  Rush is right about one simple thing: any idiot could explain Bain’s virtues better than the campaign is doing.

  Frank Luntz said an interesting thing on Hannity last night, that Bain was highly respected and studied in MBA programs around country. First I heard about it. Campaign should find professor to explain this.

  Many good points, well stated. However…

  1) Obama controls the optics. If this column became well-known, Obama would find the last clean spot in Chicago and make a little movie extolling the great city. He would also take credit for this greatness!

  2) But here’s the point that really interests me. Truth versus lies. If it’s established that Obama was born anywhere else but Hawaii, then he becomes something that even the least sophisticated person can understand: a liar. Ditto if he knew about Fast and Furious and in fact directed it. Ditto if, wild idea, his real farther was somebody else. Ditto if he has a secret life different from what he presents to the public. The thing is, all the way through the 2008 campaign, he was allowed to lie, about Wright, about Ayers, about how he got his big house, about almost everything. So pinning down the exact truth is not the main tactic. Pinning down that he lied is the main tactic.

  Here’s my impression from looking at lots of sites. The Left has no idea how serious this is. They’re doing all this snarky sarcasm stuff. Look, a racist in a tinfoil hat. But a forgery is a felony is a year in jail. And this investigation will make some of the ballot challenges catch fire. I imagine Bill and Hillary winking.
