“You can draw some comparisons between the two and it’s a team-building kind of experience”- No sir, there is no comparison between an athlete and a soldier who is willing to die at any moment. I may not agree with the way our government uses it’s military, but that does not take away the amount of respect I have for the individual.
I guess the Patriots organization could reserve a few Superbowl box seats for Kyle's surviving family members to attend.
Another related note: The Cardinals organization may invite Tillman's surviving family members to the skybox if they reach the Superbowl.
The NFL could use some more patriotic PR this year. It will not fully dilute the media broadcast of other failings, but you gotta start somewhere.

Let’s see. Save my life and give me aids…Pass, just let me die
Amen...The reliance on 'telling the truth' does not suffice.
Clearly we accept everyone's word for it and never test blood.
Had a conversation with a nurse once, she said that she could handle cancer, but if she contracted aids, she would kill herself. Pregressives/progressives just keep pushing the envelope. The Ebola epidemic failed to materialize, so let go back to something we know works! Libs kill me, literally.
I'd not lift a finger if it were to let you die, with views as ignorant as that.
Yup, doing there best to keep the law abiding citizen at a disadvantage.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse, or is it for some?
And using the chance to tack on an ecigarette ban to boot. Ridiculous.
What is the purpose of an outdoor smoking ban? To protect the environment and decrease second hand smoke issues...
...then what is the purpose of adding E-cigarettes to the ban...POWER and CONTROL!
I feel liberated because the liberals keep passing laws to make the un-liberated still feel un-liberated and to make the liberals feel like they're good people without understanding the obvious conflict because the liberal voters are TOO DAMN STUPID!!! VIVA LA PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS!!
Just proof that there are too many laws and rules.
Kinda reminds me of the border- we don't have a border crisis, we have a democrat non enforcement of the laws crisis.
It was probably a bad idea for them to ban the “No Smoking” signs in the parks. Maybe once they ban the banning of the signs, they can then put them up.
Maybe the Girl Scouts were complaining about folks smoking Pot. The city council was probably to stoned to read the complaint.
"...after the council took action on that item there was never any enforcement, never any signs posted."
Come on, laws aren't meant to solve anything, the purpose is to show a politician had good intentions.
Is Pot allowed in parks? How about sex? Are there couples copulating in front of the cops?
CA has also banned plastic shopping bags and bacon sold by street vendors. Meanwhile Muslims are protected and Christian symbols in public spaces are banned.
Gotta love that state.
The problem is there are so many laws in the books right now. No body takes the time to research and if a law is outdated, have it renewed and a new one put in.
You can get pulled over for anything.
We don't need anymore laws. We just need to enforce the laws already on the books
I don’t suppose Girl Scouts build campfires any more.
The second hand smoke from a campfire is clearly a threat and the carcinogens from that burnt marshmallow on a smore is a risk we just can’t take with our precious little "indoctrinates"
Everybody should just chew and spit everywhere, including the used up tobacco.
They had to pass the legislation in Turlock, to find out what' in it.
Cities do not pass legislation. Have you never had a New Years Resolution? Did someone throw you in jail for failure to quit smoking when you made a resolution.
We don't have to consent to their resolutions any more than they have to consent to ours.

It is wonderful. Many times it’s the “average” people helping one another, giving what little they have to help someone who has fallen on harder times. To me this means so much more than a rich person leaving a nice tip.
Agreed! Average people do SO much more than government ever could. This type of help comes from the heart and does a soul good. There truly are still wonderful folks out there.
Thank you Lord :-)
The problem with government trying to help starts with bloated bureaucracies that suck up half of the available dollars. Then for every one person that truly need help 20 more get in line with their hands out and game the system. In the end only a few pennies of every dollar end up being properly applied. It is always more effective when you and I help those in need.
I am a Christian. I did pray for Brittany. God answered that prayer through Kara Tippetts.
It's like these "Christians" turn into complete hypocrites when it comes to this topic. God knows her heart, if she accepted Jesus she is going to heaven even if she takes the pill. Everyone else speculating needs to pray for wisdom.

I’m going to vomit. How are so many people in Hollywood so stupid? It’s not even difficult to see the corruption and evil in this man. There’s no hope for this one. RIP Gwyneth P.
Then you will have no problem with a painting next to it with those same children kneeling on the floor praising Allah. This is a problem with ANY religious iconography in government-funded institutions: the entire school should be covered with icons from ALL potentially represented religions, because there may be for example, Jewish or Muslim children in that school. It doesn't work in a secular society which is what the U.S. is.

I’m not sure who wrote this article(obviously someone from AP), but I have no idea what they were thinking. A bunch of sentence fragments thrown together by a fourth grader perhaps. I believe that someone wrote a list of facts, placed them on individual sheets of paper, put them in a bucket, shook them up, and then wrote this story as he/she pulled the pieces of paper out one by one. The worst part is that it could have been a good story. A story that even Steve Jobs would be proud of.
It was probably translated from Japenese...when words are translated, it may sound or look fragmented...get over it.
I'd bet money the story was "tweeted" from the scene in small 140 character bites, and no one on the editorial staff bothered to edit--maybe in an effort to be the "first" with the story...
With Tokyo at the beginning of the article, no doubt it has been translated. The translator could have made it more sensible, I agree. But, as one who reads translated Japanese on a fairly regular basis, trust me when I say it could have been a whole lot worse. Something like, "taken photos mountain they were last."
And even when translated into English well, a lot can still get lost in true meaning. All that said, it could use some cleaning up. But, it is what it is. :-)

It would benefit him to just keep his mouth shut. Even a “err, I don’t know” would sound more intelligent at this point.

I stand corrected. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time.
