Really? Yet another person who doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to patrol officers busting their humps daily on a myriad of radio calls. Please don’t be so paranoid. The police don’t have the time or inclination to do this to everyone if it were true.

Giving police the authority to look at a driver’s cellphone without probable cause is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. You need articulable facts in order to conduct a search and seizure. The only way to do so in this case is to have a driver admit use or have a reliable eyewitness account. Statements and physical evidence will tell who’s at fault anyway.

The last 20 years of my 33 year LEO career was spent as a field sergeant. Countless driving hours were spent on the radio, typing on the mobile digital terminal, and talking to victims/witnesses enroute to radio calls without a traffic collision. Some can do it well, some can’t. I still don’t understand why it’s legal to drive and talk on a “hands free” phone but not while holding a phone as they both can be distracting to some.

You said “I was a trooper.” I would deduct that from the content of your entire post you were either NEVER a trooper or you were fired. You certainly do not know what you’re talking about.

He must not have known that 30 round magazines are illegal in California. Must get the word out better so that these type of shootings are prevented. I would also like to know if the “Gun Free Zone” signs were clearly posted on campus.

Jokes aside, my heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones and I pray for a speedy recovery to the injured ones. Unfortunately, there is a lot of evil in this world and they will NEVER be able to pass enough laws to stop psychos like this guy.

Idiot. Even when I was boating out there on the Colorado River in my 20′s in the 70′s drinking a case of Miller Lite a day in the 113 degree heat, we wouldn’t have the boat operator drink while we would ski behind our 16′ bubble decks. Lake Havasu, the gorge, or even Lake Mohave is better than Mead anyway.

I love Ford & hybrid vehicles and hope sales go through the roof! It means more gas for my 08 Mustang Bullitt V8, 08 Mustang GT/CS Vert V8, and 13 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi V8. I know, I know, I just hope it wasn’t built by the dope-smoking and beer drinking Chrysler workers busted by the local news behind their UAW office.

I have no clue what kind of gas mileage I get. It doesn’t matter because I have to drive them anyway.

Joining my union was VOLUNTARY. I joined, stayed for 33 years, and they did not control me. I am not a Democrat or a Republican and always voted with my conservative conscience.

Some of you anti-police Blaze posters crack me up sometimes, especially because you really know nothing about state and local law enforcement officers.

The cameraman’s wife, Jennifer Simpson, was interviewed on local news more extensively and she said that Brooks violently resisted and opined that the police were justified with the force they used.

Assuming that all police officers in California are liberal tools that only arrest law-abiding conservatives and Tea Party members is ignorance beyond belief. That being the case, I guess you don’t mind when the Satan-led Progressive Socialist Democrats label all Conservatives as Bible and gun-clinging hillbillies.

We can agree on one thing though, a couple of those CHP officers need to start going to Weight Watchers real soon.
