Associated Press Calls Clint Eastwood’s Speech ‘A Bizarre, Rambling Endorsement’ of Mitt
August 31, 2012 at 8:42am
I have been a Clint Eastwood fan since I was a boy. I vividly recall watching his “Spaghetti westerns” at least 40 years ago!! I still enjoy his work. It did seem that he was confused, and lost the thread of his topic as the speech progressed last night :( . Sad. His points were there, but a bit muddled. I hope I can be that prescient when I am in my 80s!!

@ Pointbreak.
A ½ truth beats a wavering lie. Every time. And clearly, you fall into the latter category. Perhaps you did not see, that on Friday, 30,000 people volunteered to do community service to help their fellow citizens. And that constitutes “somebody doing something”. And it was done without any government involvement, or interference. You speak of “winning freedom”, and imply that it must be done through violence. I would remind you of Gandhi, who threw off the yoke of English colonialism, without using violence. I would remind you of King, who advanced civil rights by hundreds of years….. And never fired a shot, threw a punch, or used a knife. You accuse us of “not having the guts to fight for it”. Angry rhetoric, it seems, is all you have. Perhaps you would care to explain what you have done? And the FEMA camp that you speak of. Are you so egotistical to think that you will not be standing right along side of me in that camp? The time has come for unity. Not factions’. If you care for your country, join us don’t fight us.

Simple is it not?? Nothing changes. If nothing changes. More regulations + higher taxes = A reticent employer/investor environment. And now that Oblameo’s tax has been upheld by another Supreme Court screw up, We can expect more of the same……

@Mutiny,
No doubt that Ron Paul hit on many more conservative issues than Romney does. Unfortunately, his foreign policy is a train wreck! Yes, I fully understand that the founders were originally against international involvement. Jefferson himself felt strongly about that…… Util our ships began getting attacked by Muslim pirates. And thus began the Tripolitan War (Barbary Coast War). I don’t think you can get much more libertarian than Thomas Jefferson. But remember, he had no problem being involved in international war, to protect this country. Paul’s stance on international involvement, is at best appalling, at worst, he would leave us defenseless.
