  I object to calling the FFRF an atheist group. I am an atheist and I have no problem with crosses or religious items in public spaces. The FFRF is a dogmatic religious hating political group that makes all atheists look bad.

  I apologize. I did not mean to report your posts. I hit the wrong link. It seems there is no way to reply to a reply.

  I grew up in a Southern Baptist church so I have read the bible, extensively. It was my study of the bible that led me away from it. I know it is in your religion to pity me so I wont tell you not to. :)

  I read Mere Christianity a few years ago. I could not accept his premises but I did enjoy the rest of the book. It has some good advice on living a good life and how to treat others.

  I don’t have any problems with them believing in their gods or worshiping what they like as long as they don’t force it on me or mine. I was only objecting to the statement that being atheist makes me immoral, which is a patently false statement. Morality does not begin and end with the Christian God.

  I am an atheist who is conservative but does not believe in God or the supernatural. I take issue with the statement that we do not have a moral compass. Have you ever heard of the concept of reciprocity? It predates Christianity by a thousand years.

  I am an atheist. Just wanted to state that, up front. But I do not have a problem with a high school course on the Bible. It’s influence on the human race cannot be denied.

  I just finished watching the HBO special, John Adams. The scene that comes to mind is when Washington refused to run, again, for president after two terms. The peaceful transition of power was unprecedented and special.

  I fear that this may not continue.

  He said he took the code for “private use”, in case he lost his job. “Private use”?, like blackmail? Or to sell to the highest bidder? Sounds very fishy to me.
