First, he started patrols due to a spike in black on white crimes. So what? That could very well be a valid statement. I went to his blog via the link and he has 4 crime alerts from the university from the three days before his post. Take it how ever you want it.

Second, unless you have a case of self induced selective ignorance, you can clearly see that the article says:

“But, he says, the group WILL HELP ANY VICTIMS of crime they come across WHO ARE NOT WHITE.”

The patrols started due to certain events, but it is intended for the the good of everyone (other than the criminals regardless of race).

Not trying to get too technical but you do realize that most of the news stories on this site are taken from other news sources? For instance, The Albuquerque Journal and Eyewitness News 4 are both used in this article. Soooo you must not have looked to hard since you said that this story is “nowhere else”

@Just- You clearly dont understand the point of a prison or the mindset of an inmate (which might be a good thing). Watch the full video. This guy was already in solitary. He was refusing to be to be compliant. Making demands of the CO’s. Doing exactly what he was told not to do. Spit in a CO’s face. Then continued to resist. All of this is done as a move for power and control. Its like a child pushing a parents limits. If that behavior is not stopped, it escalates. Allowing that type of behavior to continue is a form of enabling. Spraying him wasn’t wrong. Leaving him with the spray on his face for so long was not called for. I will give you that. However, if you watch the end of the full video, Mr. Schlosser is very compliant and agreeable. And with no permanent damage.

Side note: Schlosser said he didnt care if they sprayed him. I doubt that he still feels that way.

You talk about abandoning logic, reason, common sense, science, and observable evidence. Doesn’t Dawkins do just that. Science and the medical field agree that the that the human life cycle begins at conception. So logically, scientifically, and rationally, to say that that a fetus is less human that a pig is ridiculous. That is of course unless you decide to abandon logic, reason, common sense, science, and observable evidence. Then you might find his comments informative.

She is absolutely right. We just need to tell men not to rape. That would cut back rapes by 40% at least. In fact I am already working on a prototype to prevent rape. It is underwear that has “Don’t rape!” written on it. It will come in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, French, Arabic, and braille. Other languages available on request. That will stop the attacker instantly just in case the victim forgets to tell him to not rape.

But we should take it one step further. Hear me out. I know this is a bit out there but we should make rape illegal. Then pretty much nobody would rape other people. It is safe to say that rape would drop by 78% if we would just make it illegal.

You say you have read the whole Bible but when given verses that address homosexual acts as a sin, you refute them by saying the the Bible isn’t infallible because it was written by man. But you also say that you “follow the message of the whole (love) rather than trying to find obscure verses to support my bigotry.” But what you are really doing is picking and choosing what verse you agree with to help support your position, not the Bible’s. You aren’t really following a message. It seems more like you are formulating one.

It is talking about injury or death to the unborn child and the mother, but the verse was written to specifically address unborn children. Verse 12 already establishes the punishment for killing someone that is already born. There would be no point in repeating the same thing only 10 verses later.

In no definition of the Hebrew text is it said to mean miscarriage. Premature, to come out, untimely birth, to come forth, or even depart, none of these mean the death of the child. Miscarriage, by today’s standards, means the loss of life. There is no translation of that Hebrew text that even implies a death. It even ensures that there is no life lost by saying, “but there is no serious injury” or “If no further injury results” or “yet no mischief follow” or “but there is no harm”. Babies can depart from, come forth, or have an untimely birth and still be perfectly healthy. That is why the second part is there. It describes the penalties for any harm that may occur. On top of that, there is an exact Hebrew word for miscarriage/abortion.If that is what Moses wanted to say, he would have used to the word that actually meant that miscarriage or abortion.

There are places in the Bible where child is used to describe a baby still in the mothers womb. This means that although they were unborn, they were still considered children. The penalty for killing a child is still death.

I know this super late but I wanted to respond to your comment on Exodus. I hope you end up reading this.

I would urge you to take some time to study the original Hebrew text. It’s is clear that it never mentioned miscarriage. It’s translation is more appropriately “premature”, “to come out”, or even “birth”. Those verses are specifically address injury and/or death to the child. As far as the different translations are concerned, “miscarriage” is rarely used. The vast majority use the more appropriate translations of the Hebrew text. I would have to say that it is clear that the Bible considers the harm or death of a child in the womb just a serious as the harm or death of any other person.
