“I really think it’s important that we all pull together … around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together,” Mulally said.

A lot of words that mean nothing. Sounds like a good politician to me!

JP, i wonder why we can figure it out but the powers that be can’t. I used google maps satellite yesterday to count the tomatoe plants in my garden but we can’t find IS armor? Also, how much oil can they pump without electricity?

We will pay one way or another, with our money or with our blood. However, maybe we should re-prioritize how the government spends money. How many programs and projects do we spend money on that are much less important than the security and safety of our citizens.

Hormel, see my post above for said strategy.

Truth of the matter is these Islamic terrorists will never be “defeated”. Controlled and mitigated, absolutely! We need to get used to the idea that engaging them militarily day after day, month after month, year after year is just the new normal. This needs to be done with every resource our military and intel agencies possess. If we are ever foolish enough to rest on our laurels thinking we won we will pay the price and have to start over again.

Apparently the only good that my time over there was worth was 50 pounds of weight loss and 6 months of abstinence. Hussein has screwed the pooch!!!

For all we know, this may be going on 24/7, as it should be. I spent a few months at Prince Sultan Air Base before the last Iraq war started. Between 300 and 400 sorties launched every night for months before the war “started”. None were reported in the news.

Skunk,Who would you suggest take care of it. ISIS has specifically stated that the US is on their list. Why not degrade their capabilities now?

  • [87] August 9, 2014 at 10:02am

There is a military solution. I can count the tomato plants in my garden with google maps. I am sure we can find every piece of armor and artillery that ISIS has and easily destroy it. Sounds like a solution to me!

Oh, I have canoed the Maumee River from Ft. Wayne to Toledo, it is cleaner than you might think.
This latest problem, I am almost certain, was an issue at the treatment plant. No testing was done of raw water before treatment, only after. The water at tthe intake has not changed, only the treatment process. Then the water in the system had to be flushed over the course of the weekend once the city got their act together at the water plant.

Chips, Ironically, V-8 is made 20 miles up stream at the Campbell’s plant in Napoleon, Ohio, with water drawn out of the Maumee River. Same water that feeds the intake in question.

  • August 4, 2014 at 8:41pm

Low rain, low winds, small waves this summer, simple as that. Waves out by the water intake are normally three to five feet on a calm day, not this year. A couple of good thunderstorms will break up the algae.
