  From the comments, from some, I am hearing that the parents of the younger girl have only pressed charges because the 18 year old is female. Number one, as the article states, we only have one side of the story. Number two, 18 year old’s parents have said that the 15 year old’s parents have not spoken with them about this issue.
  Therefore, how do we know that the 15 year old’s parents wouldn’t have pressed charges if the 18 year old would have been a boy.

  Whether male or female, this 18 year old broke the law. And she should be held responsible for what she has done.

  Here is what I found on the Florida law. Notice the laws definition of “sexual activity.”

  Quoting Florida Statutes Section 794.05 – Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.
  (1) A person 24 years of age or older who engages in sexual activity with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. As used in this section, “sexual activity” means oral, anal, or ******* penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another; however, sexual activity does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose.

  (2) The provisions of this section do not apply to a person 16 or 17 years of age who has had the disabilities of nonage removed under chapter 743.

  (3) The victim’s prior sexual conduct is not a relevant issue in a prosecution under this section.

  I thought of giving up, I thought that what we had done in the last 4 years had been a waste. But when I thought about it, how could I look at my little girl and my nieces and nephew, knowing that I didn’t keep fighting?

  We have got to become more self sufficient.

  Everyone needs an emergency supply on hand. If something happens and we need it, we shouldn’t rely on the government for help. As you can see, they are no help. FEMA in Coney Island was shut down today due to the bad weather.

  I feel for the people of NY and NJ which is why I donated what I could to the relief effort there.

  We had an ice storm a few years back and we were without power for a week. It honestly never occurred to me to call the government. We went and bought a little propane heater that was enough to heat our living room and closed off the rest of the house and we bundled up. It was hard, but we got through. And we helped out neighbors out where we could.

  My husband and I drove a semi at the time, which had a small generator, so we charged phones for the entire neighborhood.

  We have to be prepared and we should help out our fellow man whenever possible, no matter who they voted for. :-)

  No one is asking you convert when you walk in the door, you are there to vote.

  I don’t send my daughter to a public school, but that doesn’t mean that I disagree with a school being a polling place.

  Athiests really need to stop being so thin-skinned. It’s absolutely ridiculous!
