    There is a difference between calling everyone who attacks the president racist and calling those who make watermelon and fried chicken comments racist. People making those comments are clearly racist. And racism is disgusting. Thats not really up for debate.

    Wait really you honestly think the second amendment allows us to carry grenades? I’m honestly just suprised never heard anyone actually make that argument. Do you draw a line anywhere? Do you consider lets say a nuclear bomb to be allowed? How about RPGs? Both could possibly be cast as defensive tools (and have often been actually) do they not also qualify through the same line of logic as the hand grenade? If you say no then what makes them different? What criteria do you use to distinguish?

    Might want to check your history. The donkey came to represent the Democratic party through Andrew Jackson. His enemies called him stubborn and portrayed him as a donkey. He liked the idea so much he adopted the symbol as his own.

    And while it is certainly true that in the first half of the 20th century the kkk was strongly associated with the southern democrats the northern democrats were strongly opposed to them. After they managed to pass the Civil Rights Act the southern democrats mass defected to the Republican party. Does this make the Republican party racist? No of course not but when people make the claim that Lincoln was a Republican or that the KKK were Democrats they miss the point. Your party does not matter your ideology does. Lincoln was a liberal as was Teddy Roosevelt both happened to be Republicans. The southern Democrats were highly conservative their party is irrelevant.

    Oh come on making an effigy of the president doesn’t make you a racist. Burning one doesn’t make you a racist. I’ll even give someone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to hanging one. But putting watermelon in its mouth is racist. Stop kidding yourself. Or are you really going to buy into him using it because it was there?

    Is it protected by the first amendment? Yes of course. That however doesn’t make it any less disgusting.
