Twinkies Are Back! (But Guess Who’s ‘Not Expected to be Involved’ Going Forward)
April 28, 2013 at 12:14pm
Sir, unions have harmed my city (where this very bakery is located). They kept wanting to drain Hostess more and more. 300+ have lost their jobs because of that bakers union.
Kansas is a right-to-work state. Being forced to join a union as a condition of employment is in violation of Kansas State Law.
Not using the very same union is a smart idea by the LLC.

Chicago Suburb Demands Family Tear Down Their ‘Nuisance’ Ice Rink
December 28, 2012 at 3:34pm
If the rink melts and the resulting water floods neighbor’s properties, then I can understand it from a liability standpoint.
They may have a property right to do such a thing, but I wonder if they are being considerate of their immediate neighbors. I’m not sure though this is the concern of the city though.
Could Texas Really Secede From The Union? The Answer Is…
December 6, 2012 at 3:46pm
How many times am I going to repeat this?
As per Texas vs. White in 1869, NO State can unilaterally secede from the Union. They waive any such right upon admittance to the Union.
Case closed!

Agreed. This is merely one form of protest against the government.
I fear the President would just push all these thousands of people aside and flipping us the bird. Heck, his cohorts and he have done that for the past 4 years.

It’s only secession from the Union that is prohibited constitutionally.

That is permissible under the Constitution. All legislatures involved are required to vote and approve such breakups and combinations. Then, it is ultimately up to Congress to approve that.

States don’t have the right to secede from the Union.
The Supreme Court in Texas v. White in 1869 ruled that States waive their right of secession upon admittance to the Union.
These petitions legally and constitutionally hold no water.
But the fact we are resorting to such petitions in the first place speaks volumes about people dissatisfaction of Obama winning reelection and this government running amuck.
I hate to say it, but we are living 1984 and Animal Farm!

OS X and its offshoots (iOS) are based on BSD. ;)
I use Ubuntu. BTW, it’s Debian-based. I’ve used Slackware. Let’s just say it requires a much higher learning curve. Even on Ubuntu, I prefer using the terminal window most of the time. :D
Even if using Linux/UNIX, if you find yourself pointing to a bad DNS server, then get yourself a different ISP!
