NRA President: Obama Violating His Oath as President & Trying to Build an ‘Imperial Presidency’
January 18, 2013 at 2:55pm
You can only impeach a President for something he did, not for something he failed to do, and not for trying to exceed his authority. It was always expected that all politicians would try to exceed their authority, and it is up to the other branches of government to restrain their excesses. If you think the President can be impeached, what would be the charge, and what is the law that makes it a crime or misdemeanor?

As a matter of fact, I did. I tried to get them to see that these paranoid theories were irrational not because the people they hated and feared were good or not evil, but because they didn’t make sense in terms of risk/benefit analysis and in the number of people who would have had to go along with them and keep quiet about it.

Really, you guys hate and fear the President so much that you think he had small children murdered just so he could take away you guns? And you still think this even though he isn’t even trying to take away your guns and has publicly affirmed that you have a right to own them? You think this was a false flag operation to provide cover for his huge liberty threatening agenda of more thorough background checks, better information sharing and asking Congress nicely to consider reinstituting the assault rifle ban? Do you realty think that only by murdering of small children would he be able to introduce these very moderate measures, which are really as close to doing nothing at all as he could get away with?

You can’t impeach a President just for violating his oath of office; lots of them do it. There Constitution just say he has to take an oath. There is no law saying he has to keep it.

You can’t sue someone for distributing public information. The law only recognizes a difference between public and private information, not public and more public.

Perjury is lying under oath. The Presidential Oath of Office does not require the President to tell the truth, and there is no law against failing to fulfill it.
These Amazingly Real Pictures Are Actually Watercolors — And They’re Painted By a Glenn Beck Fan!
January 17, 2013 at 12:48pm
lel2007 is right. Great skill does not equal great art. This is art and it isn’t bad. The composition is good. The color use is very nice, but it doesn’t make you see anything you couldn’t get from a good photograph. If the photographer could shoot a whole roll while the watercolorist is just socking in the major masses of light color, and if the photographer’s roll has even one more picture that is as good as these, then that is enough to make the creation of this kind of art a monumental waste of time – most of them, anyway. The one of the cows is good. I like the way he heightened the brightness of the color in the shadows. The reflective sculpture is okay, too. The flattened textures of the pavement and background buildings make the reflection look more real than directly observed reality.

If it made him think and wonder “What the hell is wrong with these lunatics?” then he should have said so. If it made him think and wonder anything else, then he deserves to be rebuked by the rational.
