  • hahahahaha! ROFL! Dance for me monkey boy. Rope a dope!

  • Amen! Hank Jr. said it in song about visiting, and quickly realizing his mistake. Give me the backwoods, preferably in a boat or in a treestand, anyday.

  • What do you want to bet, that the Feds never return any of the guns stolen from the parents? I will further bet you that they are charged with some type of crime. I pray for these parents, that they may cope with the loss of their son. I also pray for the folks whose home was riddled with gunfire, that they may sleep in peace after this horrific event.

  • I left your “logical” (read Republican) party about 5 years ago. I am now a registered independent, who aligns with no official party. Read Bastiat’s “The Law” slowly. It is a relatively easy read. If you omit the fact that it was written in France in 1850, you would think it was a modern writer living here in the U.S. Our country’s problems are not new, and neither are the “solutions” that have been created, are on the table or will be offered in the future. We are most of the way down the slippery slope, and the only way out is to shed A LOT of deadweight. Well, ok, that would really only slow the rate of travel, but it would be better than the future that is looming. If the government was not continually picking our pockets, we would have more to freely give to others how God would have us do. The “two” (calling something by two names, does not make it two ACTUAL separate entities) parties have bloated all levels of government that it is unsustainable for much longer. From Full Metal Jacket, “Whose side are you on, son? ….. Why don’t you come on in for the big win!” From what I have seen of Dr. Carson, he would very likely get my vote, should God guide him to run for president.

  • The Bible is filled with stories of how the “world” tried to get God fearing people to turn their backs on God. The book of Daniel comes to mind. His friends were NOT consumed by the fire, but the guards were. Daniel was NOT eaten by the lions, but the wise men of Babylon were. This man will be fed to the proverbial lions, but I believe his faith in God will prove to be stronger than the false god of government (and yes that reference to a “god” should be in lower case, because it is not The God, The Almighty). I pray that God smiles upon this man for doing what is right, without being hurtful towards his fellow man. (Just because he didn’t make their cake, does not make him hurtful, or homophobic).

  • Jude 4,
I agree with your position, but I am troubled. I will not force my children into adulthood early to satisfy some Judeo-Christian Mosaic “law” that does not exist. Christ wants us to be as innocent as these “little ones”. I don’t like Christmas, but I do enjoy spending time with my family, seeing people at least try to act civil in public, and my children’s faces. One day they will wake up, realizing that the government is sticking it to them, and leeches are draining our society financially and morally. That day is not here, so I will give thanks to God for the blessings that He provided me today. May you have a blessed day with family and friends.

  • Kickagrandma,
Amen. I struggle with the scripture that you reference daily. I want so much for this country to come back to God, so we can be His again. Your attitude, through your post is on target. May your day be blessed.

  • USAMama,
I agree with your sentiments up to the “brother’s keeper”. Yes, it was used only once, but let’s look at the big picture. “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son. He is not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentence”. God is not going to personally “speak” to you. He will, use others to rebuke and exhort you. Matthew 18 is speaking about helping other saved sinners, but by following these instructions, we effectively become our “brother’s keeper”. I do not look down on unsaved sinners, because I was once one (not too far back either), and I still struggle with my own shortcomings. When we use kind words to bring people to God, back to God, or to simply uplift them, we become the keeper of our brethren. I for one, am blessed to have some fine Christians around me, who have uplifted me when I was down. If not for them, I might have fallen back into my old sins. I am beginning to understand why God set up His church in the manner He did, with Elders and Deacons. The older men and women are to teach the younger men and women respectively. This is the critical portion missing today. It happened in Moses time also. It took only one generation before keeping God’s commandments was lost. Please have a blessed day.

  • Let’s revive an old tradition… We grab our guns, and tell the governing elite to go stick their taxes where the sun doesn’t shine. If we all stop paying the taxes, the elites will have no money to bankroll their bureaucratic jobs, and the regulations will cease. Sound like a plan?

  • I am a Christian, and Jesus taught us to love. He also taught us to help our brothers and sisters when they are overtaken by sin. Matthew 18, gives clear illustration on how to deal with sin inside the church. We are to talk to them in private, then if they do not repent, bring one or two more with us. If that second does not work, then take it before the church. If they still do not repent, we are to disfellowship from them. This last straw is supposed to be an emotional sting, to bring the sinner to repentence. The fact that God wanted us to discipline ourselves, is for one simple reason. The church is His bride, and He wants her to be pure. He is not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentence. I know people, who I am friends with that are gay. I do not call them out on their sin, because, they are not my brothers in Christ. If they were to ask me my opinion, I would try to gently steer the conversation towards pleasing God. If one of my brethren were to come out of the proverbial closet, I would be bound by the teachings of my Lord, to do everything I could to help them see the error of their ways. I would do it with Love, Kindness and Respect. I am not a homophobe, bigot or Mormon hater, I merely love my God. I love Him so much that I want to do His will. I want the same happiness I feel to be felt by everyone I know.
