    @Halloween.

    You misunderstood the original poster. HE was responsible for $14000 because the insurance they had only covered $1000 after deductible. So he had to pay cost of surgery minus the deductible minus the covered $1000. That total equaled $14000. @Dismayed Veteran, please correct my if I am wrong.

    I have met many Americans who have lived over in Great Britain, used their health services and still HATED it, myself among them. I have also met many Brits and Scots who HATED it too. I lived over there for 18 months, long enough to have developed a fairly accurate view of it. And this was in the 90s too. It has only gone downhill from there from all reports out.

    The fact that you haven’t met anyone who has had a bad experience or changed their minds to liking it is just luck because there are plenty of us out here who have experienced it and hated it.
