The short answer is “no”… The long answer is “of course not, gun control isn’t about saving lives.”

Whenever I get into a conversation with someone from the left on similar topics,.. It is always the same dance. They constantly deflect, redirect and try and relate points that are completely not connected. It’s always messy.

    Tomi did a great job.

Another example of how classless obama is… Justice Scalia hasn’t even been buried yet, and he’s already talking about replacing him…

Shouldn’t we give the family time to mourn before we start talking politics?

@super. You are correct. There are many non-violent ways to keep our employees in check. However, the second amendment was put in place just in case they get out of control… I don’t think we are at that stage yet, but if we ever did… I’ll be flying a B2. :)

@judgenot. Congrats! You taken the first step. Start at the beginning and keep reading.

    Yes I can…. You obviously can’t.

@judgenot. I can see you are pretty slow, so I’ll try to use small words… We the people are the owners or sovereign of our country. It’s a little hard to understand, perhaps radical, but the way our country is setup. The U.S. government belongs to us. You could say that we are the shareholders… This means that government owned land, or as it’s also called “public” land is owned by… We the people. Go back to school.

@judgenot… Really pointless comment… No participation trophy for you.

I found a violent policy center study of 2010 BLS data that only reports 313 gun deaths of women by males they were married to or were intimate with in 2010. If the 8700 stat is correct, then that would show a decrease in women murdered from 2000 to 2010… Perhaps due to an increase in female gun ownership?
The 8700 number looks more like total women killed by someone they knew with any weapon. The left always adjusts the stats to support their narrative.

irrelevant… not connected to or relating directly and significantly to the matter at hand or not capable of being applied…
Glenn has a large following and he constantly addresses issues and topics that are the current matter at hand. You are connecting to the matter at hand through a website that was created by Glenn. It seems to me that if anything is not capable of being applied, it would be your comment.

@Terry. I had this same conversation with a friend the other day, so I’m guessing it’s on your weekly talking point memo. I have no issue with any of the, as you put it, good for women that PP does. Aside from abortion, any of the legal activities and health care they provide I have no problem with. Abortion is currently legal, so the real issue at hand is if they broken the law by profiting from the sale of body parts. If they did break the law, then they need to have their day in court.

@Crazy. I’ve read the same article… It was 23 Billion, not 24 by the way… At any rate, all of those “loopholes” are part of the tax code and therefore the companies did not “tell the federal govt they lost money”. One common “loophole” is accelerated depreciation… Which simply means the big piece of equipment that the company paid $500,000 for in 2014 was put in the expense column in 2014… They spent the money in 2014 and it was expensed in 2014. I encourage you to read more than the first few lines of an article next time.

Financial lesson aside, the great thing about these “loopholes” is that they are tax laws that can be changed… If you have a problem with them, learn about them. Understand why they were written, how they are used, how they benefit the economy and if you still don’t like them, elect someone who will change them.

@Grover. I appreciate that you are able to be honest. I can honestly say that the thought of killing a fetus sickens me. Furthermore, the complacency with killing the most innocent among us is deeply concerning. I just hope for our sakes our children don’t decide its a good idea to abort us when we become a burden.

I don’t know what accounting school you went to, but in the 15 years I’ve been in business finance, I have not seen a way to “claim huge profits” AND “lose money for taxes”… Do you work for the government?

Let’s ‘pretend’ for a moment that there is some truth to these ‘fake’ videos. If Planned Parenthood did sell body parts, would you have a problem with it? I’m guessing your answer would be no.

What’s the problem with the police these days? They all seem constantly scared and too quick to shoot dogs and walk all over our rights because they of how they “feel”.
