CNN said some law enforcement groups see the threat from these domestic groups as even greater than the threat posed by foreign terrorist groups.
Threat to whom?

Again Folks, if a bakery will not sell a cake with a homosexual topping to anyone, then they are treating everyone the same, and that by definition is not discrimination, A bible book store will not sell porn to anyone so they are not discriminating on anyone, if a product is not available from a business to anyone
then it is not discrimination, but trying to reason with someone with a homosexual agenda is almost impossible because they are not reasonable people and they lack the basic human ability to reason.
@cents Excellent analogy, that I’ll be using, I’m sure….thanks
No, you cannot claim that offering a service to homosexuals is a different service than heterosexuals anymore than you could claim offering a service to white people is a different service than offering a service to black people.
It's hilarious the way Christians keep trying to find a way to LIE about their intentions and reasons because they think they've found a clever way around the law. It won't work.
One solution is to have the order form include the pre-printed statement that the service provider reserves the right to sublet any portion of the assignment. If the ‘happy couple’ accepts that condition by signing up for the service, the photographer/baker/whatever is free to sublet the job to a friendly service provider.
well said and i agree, but its when a backery refuses to do business with any homosexual marriage, btw can you guys find my the part of the bible that dictates only one man and woman should marry? like its an honest question

ALL Bull pucky………..
 February 6, 2015 at 11:52am
They wanted same sex figurines on top of the cake…. check your facts before blowing wind…..the bakers did not offer same sex images on their cakes for anyone and that is not discrimination that is just a product that is not sold there
 February 6, 2015 at 11:45am
They don’t sell cakes with two men or two women kissing on the top, that’s the point…. it’s NOT on the list of products that are sold there…..
 February 6, 2015 at 11:22am
I’m not a licensed lawyer but here is my take, “discrimination” means treated differently….. and the Anti discrimination laws prevent us from treating people differently based on race, religion, or sexual orientation…
Here is the catch……as long as these businesses won’t sell “gay” cakes etc. to ANYONE…. not even heterosexuals…… then they are not discriminating, or treating some people differently, they are treating all people the same……maybe some of these people need a better lawyer?
I agree with this in theory, but if someone comes to a shop that sells wedding cakes and asks for a wedding cake, you are refusing to sale something that you company does make.
But, what do you mean by “gay” cakes? The same-sex couple in Oregon just wanted a regular wedding cake. There was nothing “gay” about it. If the business sells regular wedding cakes to marrying couples, under Oregon law, they must sell regular wedding cakes to all marrying couples, since same sex marriage is legal in Oregon. This business knows the laws they are required to follow in Oregon. It was their choice not to follow the law regarding public accommodation, and that’s why they lost their case. Their own personal First Amendment rights were not compromised. Their business doesn’t have the same luxury of exemption to discriminate as they personally do.
Yesh... what is a gay cake?
To answer the caption, in the Obama world of progressivism, the answer is yes. In a free democratic society the answer is clearly No.
This story again?
I think a business has a right to refuse service for whatever the reason personally. Why would you go somewhere to have them make you something they were forced to make, it will just just be half asked anyways.
Gay couples are looking for "gay" cake. They are looking for wedding cakes. If the business provides wedding cakes, but refuses to sell them to gay couples, it is discrimination. Plain and simple.
common cents you made some good points.
It is even more basic then just trying to appease the 'law', it's about the law itself being unconstitutional.
However even within the unconstitutional law, you have exposed the hypocrisy with which the liberals 'apply' and enforce it.
The Oregon case was not about whether to not a the bakery would sell the couple a “gay” wedding cake, whatever that is. It was solely based on discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation within a public accommodation. One of the woman had purchased a cake from this business before, but not until the owners knew she was a lesbian when she came in to order her wedding cake, did the business owners discriminate against her. Blatant discrimination. It's against the law in Oregon, and the business owners knew it.
As soon as imams cater to gays and perform marriage, I'll reconsider my stance.
untill then the answer is no deal
You make the mistake of assuming that the better legal or logical argument wins in court. This is rarely the case. Judges know what result they want, and they backwards reason their way to that conclusion, no matter how weak or inconsistent the arguments they must employ.
The Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution used to mean that government couldn't deny the legal protections one person received to another for any reason. Thus, you can't deny someone a a benefit or right because they're black, female etc. However, when it comes to marriage, all it requires is that you allow every person the same privilege: a man may marry a woman and a woman can marry a man. If the state chooses to allow other kinds of marriages, they can't pick and choose who gets them, but the EP Clause never used to mean the states had to redefine the marriages they would allow, until someone wanted that result, so federal judges started corrupting the meaning of the clause to achieve their ends. It's intellectually dishonest to the extreme, and it will not change until the majority of people in the country quit behaving this way in their personal lives and demand it of their public servants.
Freedom of Religion - 1st Amendment, 1st Freedom in the Bill of Rights - the very reason people left England to populate America.
Civil Rights Act - Legislation (While the Courts have aligned the Civil Rights Act with the 14th Amendment - equal protection of the laws [degeneracy rewarded], this in no way trumps the 1st Amendment).
Let’s raise the stakes and see who are the true hypocrits.
Should a doctor be forced to perform a medical procedure that they feel violates their own moral code (i.e., abortion, invetro, sex change, etc.)?
If you say yes, then you don’t believe in the freedom of conscience or the freedom of religion.
If you say no, then why should a Minister be forced to marry a gay couple or a Baker be forced to make a cake for a gay couple? Isn't a doctor a paid professional? The logic is the same.
Rights are rights. They aren’t dependent on life and death matters. What is valid in one circumstance should be valid in all circumstances.
No, that's not how it works. Discrimination against homosexuals doesn't mean you're allowed to discriminate against them so long as you're not providing 'gay themed' services to anyone.
That's a good point Common Cents.
It is the difference between saying "We don't do gay cakes" and "We don't serve gay couples". The first is probably OK the second is not.
Businesses have a right to decide what products they provide and shouldn't be forced to provide products they don't want to. Unless of course you are a Health Insurance provider then you are the victim of unconstitutional ObamaCide.
Homosexual relationships are like batteries with two positive ends or two negative ends. They do not work and are potentially harmful.
Here's my take on what Christian business owners should do:
1. Be loud and proud in the business (signs, banners)about Christian values of the business, mission statements, Christian signs etc. at the same time, have a non-discrimination sign.
2. Require all wedding cake containers (boxes, etc.) as policy, to have Christian symbols/ logos and even scripture passages printed on them. Remember all wedding boxes. If you do it for all then it's non-discriminatory.
3. Have statement in store saying that a certain part of of the profits will go to a Christian values organization.
4. To get an additional discount, maybe 5-10% on items, customer must sign honor statement that advertising literature must be available around the product. The material could discuss Traditional marriage customs relating to faith.
5. Sub-contract any objectionable material to another baker/ business owner who has no problem with making cake/product.
The law comes into play when the owners "discriminate"...so don't...make the Pro-gays advertise and evangelize for you. The law can't tell you what messages to put in your business or on advertising, so make it so that gays don't want to promote your view point by patronizing your business. Christians will patronize the business for taking a stand, and other that are non-religious or don't care will still go if you have a great product. Until laws are changed, this is my solution to ease Christian conscience. Pass it on!

Rejoice brothers and sisters, the great and fearful day of the Lord is getting closer every day.
Study the scriptures daily, Everything that we see happening like this is clearly recorded in the Bible as an indication of “the last days” God will reward the righteous and punish the wicked, we should take no pleasure in their demise. Remember “God is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance” we should have that same spirit of hope, for the ungodly to repent while there is still time.
make sure you tell your god to punish Obama with all He's got!
Damn that Obama !
More STUPID CHRISTIAN NONSENSE....claims of Jesus coming back, End Days, the Rapture...has been going on now for 2000 years and Jesus has not come back, and the End of the World...has not happened. But, it makes you feel really special...and
Christianity is a Death Cult....Christians cannot wait to die and be with Jesus...I say...Go For It...he's waiting for you up there in your imaginary heaven...Go for it, why wait around.

The United States of America would NOT even exist if it were not for armed citizens, through the barrel of a gun, this greatest nation to ever grace the face of the planet earth was founded. With guns, we broke the chains of tyranny and established LIBERTY, it took about two hundred years for ignorant souls like Briant Gumbel to start dragging us back to Tyranny, it will take guns again to restore Liberty.

Why do homosexuals expect us to accept their beliefs, and their condemnation of us, but they won’t accept our beliefs and condemnation of them? Answer: they don’t believe in “equal protection” under the law, they want “un-equal protection” or “special protection” which means that they want the law to declare them right, and us wrong….. which is a violation of the Constitution, you can’t defend yourselves with the Constitution and then refuse to let us defend ourselves with it, that by definition is not “equal protection under the law”
Nobody cares if you accept gay people or not. What they care about is whether or not you support or attempt to deny equal rights and protections under the law to people.
And if you hold the typical fundamentalist opinion on homosexuality, nobody is under any obligation to respect your bigotry. I don't accept such beliefs on the part of theists anymore than I accept the hate coming out of the mouths of Muslims directed at Jews, or the Black Panthers directed at white people, or the Aryan Nation directed at black people. I hold all bigotry in contempt and laugh when somebody attempts to say that their beliefs should be 'respected' when such beliefs are repugnant beyond words.
You're the one that wants a law saying 'only OUR definition of marriage is right' so you're the one that wants a law saying 'We're right and you're wrong', conversely what homosexuals want is laws that don't discriminate, meaning you get to have your marriage, and they get to have theirs.
They don't- they just want you to mind your own business since what they do and who they love has absolutely nothing to do with what you do and who you love.
Why do the self righteous expect us to accept their beliefs????
If what you were saying about equal protection under the law had a miniscule wring of truth to it the path the courts are taking would not be so. Your logic is illogical. Trying to impose your religious beliefs through the constitution of a free society is illogical. Trying to state that equal protection shall only apply to certain people is illogical (as was decided for slaves, bi-racial marriage, womens right to vote, etc.) Equal protection is just that EQUAL, not just for some.

Why make so complicated? oil prices are down for the same reason throughout history …..DEMAND HAS FALLEN !!! and demand has fallen because contrary the the crap fed to us in the government trough, the economy or as I like to put it, the Chickonomy is collapsing…….or has collapsed…..
Bingo. Oil is simply responding to reality. The stock market is being propped up with phony money and indicates nothing about the economy. The economy has already died. Indicated by the fact that now for the first time in history more companies are dying in America than are being created. Wall street only accounts for about .03% of all companies in America while their tax contribution is dwarfed by individual income tax yet all public policy is to protect them and the health of America is based solely on their success(because they're too big to fail).
The true backbone of the American economy was entrepreneurship. There are over 6 million companies in America that employ at least one person and until recently there were always more new companies being created than lost. Politicians depend on wall street to fund their multibillion dollar campaigns. While wall streets contribution to America is small compared to the small businessperson, they represent the greatest bulk of campaign spending. It's no wonder the political classes only concern has been the health of wall street. In the politicians push to protect their gravy train they have successfully destroyed entrepreneurship in America. People simply don't want all the extra hassle. cost and intrusion that comes with so much regulation.
The low oil prices will help prevent some individual bankruptcies but they won't bring back the economy. Oil is cheap because the economy died. People just haven't realized it yet.

It’s done every day IDIOT ! It must be sad to not have any moral compass, punks like u r bringing this country to civil war,
If you don't like civil rights laws, you should work to repeal them. Or I suppose you could start a civil war. I actually can imagine a day coming when people start firebombing Gay bars just because they didn't get their way on the issue of marriage equality for Gay couples.
Poor judgment call, Mike79. Firebombing is arson and possibly attempted murder. The "Christian establishments" you refer to? If they exist to turn a profit, they are obligated to abide by prevailing civil rights laws. They can obey the law and thrive, or they can disregard the law and suffer the legal consequences.
PolishBear - This is why you homos are enemies of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and private property rights.
 January 14, 2015 at 10:39am
Actually,,,Forcing the florist to provide flowers for a gay wedding IS a violation of this persons first amendment rights. However having said that, all this nonsense will continue until it is settled with another Civil War.
Is another Civil War something you look forward to?
No one forced the business to offer wedding floral arrangements to the public, a public with a constitutional free exercise right. To late after the invitation to whip out a religious litmus test the customer must pass, their right to religious freedom shields them from such acts of religious discrimination.

When “We The People” confiscate these vehicles from the local so called “law enforcement” communities, I’m sure we will find them useful to defend the constitution against the “domestic enemies”
that we relieved them from. America will stand up against these TYRANTS, and defend this great REPUBLIC as we have in the past.
I wonder how you know most judges you have met over the years are this way? What evidence do you have to make such a statement? I wonder exactly how you "know" all these judges? Are you a criminal who has been sentenced by many judges, and therefore have a vendetta against them for taking you out of society? If you are, I would bet MOST of the judges you have met are honest and appropriate in their rulings. It seems there is an underclass of people who are criminals, who blame their sentences on the judge......not on the crimes they have committed. It's never "their" fault, is it?
