Is that the truth? Where can I find that information?

If everyone who carries concealed open carried, I think that would normalize the situation and make it seem less scary. Maybe the reason why some people equate guns with criminals is that that is who they see with them. If they have evidence to the contrary, perhaps it will change minds. I know I grew up thinking guns were scary. Then I moved out into the country where you see hunters all the time. Now a gun is just a gun. A person with ill intent is dangerous and a gun is just a tool.

The only one who should be making a list and checking it twice is Santa Claus. History has shown that once you start making lists of people, they are misused and bad things happen. Very bad idea.

According to this article gun buybacks do nothing to curb crime. It’s simply a nice photo op to make it look like the government cares and is doing something. Crooks are not turning in the tools of their trade. When are we going to demand that our representatives actually do what they are elected to do (lead) rather than do things that look good? What happened to valuing substance?

I can’t speak to the authenticity of this story, but it rings true to me. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in this country. I don’t think it’s a huge leap from being self-destructive to being other-destructive. I think the problem is a lack of love in the home and in society. How do you connect with someone when your face is in a computer, texting or glued to the tv? I was bullied beyond belief as a child, but I never came home crying or feeling lonely because I had love and support at home. I learned how to deal with it and didn’t let other people determine my self-worth. Anyway, looking outside ourselves just delays fixing the problem. The problem is us. When we adults fix ourselves and rear our children to be strong, self-sufficient, healthy adults, we will have made far more of an impact on society than any laws could ever do.

Yes, there is amnesty with the gun buy back.

I think people should do as their conscience says. If they want to turn in their guns after this, that’s great! Just don’t try to tell other people how to live.

If criminal want to turn in guns, I think that’s great too. We have a CRIME problem. The fewer guns criminals have, the better. They are the ones causing problems, not law abiding citizens. I don’t have any problem with this at all.

Drinking is legal over the age of 21.

If the son was burning himself, that is enough for a commitment in VA. There is a difference between suicidality and self-mutilation, but they will sort that out in a psych hospital.

Like others have said, if mom felt her son was dangerous, she should have secured her weapons. I think this is looking like it could have been preventable without resorting to gun control or changes in the mental health system.

What happened to free speech? If you ban trash tv, what’s next?

  • December 8, 2012 at 7:54am

What happened to “Love thy neighbor?” Stuff like this makes me want to protest conservatism if that is what it stands for. It’s not a crime to be homosexual. This conservative stands by Ellen and JCP.

The American Psychological Association is nuts. It’s a political organization driven by money. They want to pathologize everything so that they can keep pumping drugs into people. It’s a crazy shame.

Okay, why do they think it’s the government’s job to provide free food and blankets? Isn’t it their job to clean the streets, fix the water supply, provide sanitation and things like that? This is a problem of expectations and lack of personal initiative, not failure of the government. Everybody everywhere is not experiencing this the same way.

Who allows their kids to be used in this type of political nonsense? This is why critical thinking skills are no longer taught in schools- to create lemmings.

That was absolutely disgusting. What is the inside joke, Hillary? I don’t think leaving 4 Americans to die in a 7 hour attack when we were watching it live and had help an hour away is the least bit funny.

It’s funny that so many people commenting here point out this girl’s racism, but overlook their own. That isn’t helping.

We all see what we want to see. I saw an apology that was full of embarrassment and gratitude. I didn’t see anything racial about it at all.

If this is the “big” news, so what. It was 12 years ago. Every marriage has a rough spot or two. They have obviously gotten over it. There are way bigger issues than that disqualify Obama.

I agree with Arby’s. This is the SECOND time she violated company policy. The policy exists to protect the employees AND the company. Fleeing the store was the right thing to do, but being in a position where she had to flee the store was not.

Thank God Google is supporting free speech. The problem isn’t the video. It’s these fanatatic’s response to it. You don’t KILL someone for disagreeing with you. The WH has it all wrong. This is just one more thing that shows that Obama does not believe in American values. The revolutionaries died for free speech. This clown just wants to give it away.

This is a disgrace. These people are living in an alternate reality. I thank God that it’s almost over. Maybe we can salvage our freedom, national security, and dignity before it’s too late.

You guys have obviously never been to Egypt or you would know that for most of them, having the Muslim Brotherhood in power is like us having Obama. Nobody likes to have their freedom taken away. Nobody likes to watch their security and livelihood dwindle. Please stop looking at us vs. them… both here and overseas. We are all equal in the eyes of God. We all deserve love, freedom, and happiness. Egypt is a wonderful country with warm and loving people. The fanatical extremists are ruining it for the majority as well as the rest of the world. It’s very sad what is happening there. Where is your compassion?
