Firemen handle the scene, cops handle traffic that’s it. If a cop forces the FD to move vehicles and operate in (the opinion of the FD incident commander) a dangerous way in regards to traffic the FD can halt operations Then the consequences are the PD’s to deal with.

NY Sales Tax is not 4%. More like 8.875% and the “property tax per capita”? What a BS way of listing property tax. .25 acre in NJ will cost you upwards of 13,000. a year.

I’m not defending it, just trying to show there’s a baby somewhere in the bathwater.
Seems people like me have 2 choices: 1: stay (and be subject to judgement such as yours during) and fight to change it back or 2: seek greener pastures and let those responsible for the decline behind to deal with their fate.
The problem with number 1 is we are pretty outnumbered with idiocy the prevailing wisdom, and any peaceful change will be long and drawn out with it getting much worse before it gets better. Problem with number 2 is there’s a lot of people living in the greener pastures that will be less than welcoming due to that “guilt by association” such as yourself.
Ironically, a big contributor to the marix-isiszing of NY is the huge influx of non NY’ers, many from your neck of the woods i’m sure, that seek that Utopia promised them by the fairy tale spewers of the left. There’s not many true NY’ers left.

On a somewhat unrelated note, the recent weather situation has prevented the completion of road work that was clearly only intended to appease super bowl goers etc. I think its awesome that much of the work will be unfinished and the politically correct, “photoshopped” roads will not make it in time. The true infrastructure here will get some looks. I’m sure the powers that be will do their best to direct the visitors through the best visual, albeit least convenient routes. Christie, ( a true rino in shape and form) et al will have the worlds eyes gaze on the inefficiencies of northeast road construction!
Pour me another hot chocolate momma, I’m gonna sit back and enjoy this!

I’m sure you are just generalizing. I can cite at least a half dozen national disasters that hundreds or people, including myself at times, have mobilized under own dime and time to “show up” and help.
I know where you’re coming from but it’ll help to remember that under all that media B S and the lousy voting block, that there’s still a lot of people up here that cling to their bibles and guns(until they’re confiscated that is). We’d appreciate your support.
makes it hard to support you guys when your governor came out and said what he really thinks if you don't support the liberal agenda.
That new mayor of nyc whoo hooo
What is the population of NYC and can only come up with a couple hundred volunteers.
Thanks for your help anyway.

As a kid in NYC we would get 20 inch snowfalls several times a winter. Nobody even heard of a snowblower let alone owned one. King of the hill was awesome on those huge snow piles. A lake in our city park would freeze and we’d ice skate nearly half the season on it. Used garbage can lids as sleds. My mom would bundle us up so tight it would put that kid in a Christmas Story to shame!
We never knew it was something to complain about…….must be an adult thing.
Somewhere in the last 25-30 years while the cold took a short break too many people up here changed as well. From hard working, proud blue collar family folks into whiny, sniffling, entitlement seeking babies. Yeah its cold here, thats why I have a coat, gloves and hot chocolate. I’m almost embarrassed to be from here, if not for the memories I would be.
Gonna be looking to move to America soon, but my fear is it’s shrinking like Little Italy, and may be hard to find.

AND something else the media (including The Blaze) have “missed” is that here in NJ this scandal was news in November 2013 before it happened! And Christie didn’t know…lol. What a joke. The news story, in NOVEMBER, was that the retribution to the Fort Lee mayor FROM Christie, was to close the GW right before Christmas!
We here in NJ were all ready and waiting for it to happen!
So now the Feds will spend countless money investigating something that was already investigated and reported months ago all for political theatre and distraction and the incompetent news outlets are lapping it up rather than just doing their own homework. Spoon feeding at it’s best!

My mom always said everything happens for a reason……. If Obama lost last year the left would have cried racism as usual, and cast doubt on what an unfinished Obama career would have given us. We never would have heard the end of it.
As disappointed as i was last November I’m now starting to see the reason. The nation and whole world will get definitive proof on how horrible a president Obama is and the damage a hollywood, manchurian type candidate can do. There will be unquestionable (except by the hardcore occupy minded left) , absolute and most importantly, tangible evidence against statist politicians and policy. My prayer is that no more lives need to be lost, and the damage done by these people is reversible.

“The assertions from Republicans here that somehow the president allowed this to happen or didn’t take action is offensive,” Pfeiffer said. “It is absolutely offensive. And there’s no evidence to support it.”
Where’s the evidence to support Obama did ANYTHING?? Not only is there no evidence to support he did anything, his people can’t even answer where he was……… Is that really offensive to poor Obama? If he’s so sensitive, then how offended would he be if it was his kid who died waiting for help that never came?
The only thing the American people know for sure is that he made his flight to Vegas for his pep rally on time. That begs the question then, as to which side really made this political!
I’d love to find out where exactly the buck stops in DC these days. I’m just afraid the answer is gonna be the muslim Jarret.
One question I have is not being mentioned much at all and it has two parts. 1) Why were they even there. and 2) If there was a reason, why were they there alone? Maybe somewhere in these investigations that question will be answered.
See MOMRULES' post below...it'll answer your questions.
Also told Snufflelupugus on ABC that the Republican party owed Susan Brown an apology. George said "apology for what?!?!?"
I turned it off at that point. They should all, including Obama and Hillary, be tried for treason, condemned, and summarily taken care of.
They were huddled in a corner thinking up lies to cover up the botched gun running scheme. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I stuck on that part, too. "The assertions by REPUBLICANS..." If I were Wallace, I would think ol' Puffer there needs a little reminder that *I* AM NOT A REPUBLICAN!

It’s apparent to me that anyone with a problem with all that stuff being blacked out is RACIST! Why are you afraid of more black than white?

They speak as if the Admin or CIA knew beforehand the attack was only going to last x amount of hours. That’s like saying don’t call the fire department because the fire is going to burn out before they get there. The fact that there are those that are willing to give a pass to the people in charge, when Americans dies makes me sick. What will it take for some people to get pizzed off???
Be sure, there are not many people better than Hillary Rodham Clinton at spinning, deflecting and damage control. A talent she honed working behind the scenes under Billy’s tenure. She will lose an arm before taking the fall.
I hope the repubs bring their A game for this fight and hunker down for the long haul. If played right they can bring down all the frauds of the Occupy the White House movement.

I’ve been following this thread, and decided to sign up so I could post.
I find the conversation here pretty interesting, especially the one with AmericanSoldier et al. Why people are attacking him rather than trying to learn from him is sad. I am an American and it is my duty to hear from him, especially regarding things I won’t hear elsewhere. I want to not only make the right decisions, but want to make informed decisions
Let me start of by saying, that I’ve been really really lucky. I grew up in a time when this country saw some great things, and the world was generally at peace. I was just a little too old when Desert Storm began and was already a public servant so did not join the military. Knowing then what I know now, I would have enlisted rather than go to college in the early 80′s
The reason I bring that up is because I feel was fortunate to benefit from the sacrifices made by many. I can’t speak from experience on the realities of our current wars, but if it means I have to support them to support my country I will do so.
I would like to engage Americansoldier and ask a few questions: You state that the US is winning in the body count department. While that may be true in some senses, do you think the US is killing people in the name of christianity? Maybe the worship of money is behind some of the logic but I doubt christianity is the driving force behind our fighting the war in afghanistan. Please let me know how Im wrong. Modern christians as a rule don’t blow up christians because they shop at the gap.
I agree that as a country we have lost freedoms since 2001. it is the irony of the war on terror. However, much of that loss of freedom is a result of opportunism on the part of our leaders who wish to control us, not a result of Sharia law. While I think most Muslims wish to have Islam dominate the world and for the elimination of other religions, it is a small minority who will use violence to that end. However that minority can still declare a war on behalf of that religion and we have an obligation to fight it. There is also a similarity between that pursuit and other religions as you mentioned. Most religions look to grow, and assimilate non believers. Christianity has a somewhat jaded past in that regard. However in the modern day civilized world, and especially in the US where open intolerance of one religion for another is typically rejected, the aggressiveness of Muslims is not just offensive, but dangerous.
Now let me ask about 9-11. I was there, it’s the closest thing to war or a war zone I have ever seen. It was a statement. It spoke loud and clear and said that there are some in this world that will stop at nothing to defeat or damage not only our people but our way of life. They have succeeded in some respects. Our current wars, in my belief, are a statement by us that we will not allow this to go unchecked. Some may deduce that this is a religious war on both sides, while I choose to believe it is a movement versus an idea. The idea of the USA is much more valuable and a problem for our enemies than the reality. It is this idea however that will eventually bring us back to where we came from, free, prosperous and benevolent. We will acheive greatness again in this world but it will require resolve and a fight. The movement on the other hand seeks to remove all remnants of our greatness. To erase all we have stood for. To replace the freedoms we have left with unimaginable controls. There are those that hate this country because of what we stand for, not what we believe.
So if you think you fought for Christianity, you’re wrong. You fought for people like me who want to believe the best in this country is still ahead of us. Who look at that flag and know we are imperfect, but we are good, and we will stand up against anybody who tries to do us harm. It’s much more than a matter of us versus them, or the lesser of 2 evils. Should we fail, Jesus will still do what Jesus needs to do but our country will be forever gone. So thanks for your service and yours and your families sacrifices. Know you made me proud and strengthen my belief in the greatness of this country.
