  Your money is protected by a gun but it’s radical to think that a gun should protect your children. Policemen are in malls, to protect people from stealing merchandise. Why shouldn’t they be in schools to prevent a massacre like the one that happened in Newtown last week?

  If you are claiming that it is just as easy to kill someone with a baseball bat as with a gun, why would you insist on having a gun to protect yourself?

  If you’re being attacked by someone, would you rather them have a gun or a baseball bat? I’m assuming a baseball bat–so we can say that there is a significant difference between these weapons, meaning that your analogy is quite pointless.

  I would be ok with myself having a baseball bat only if there was a guarantee that any would be intruder also, at most could only have a baseball bat. Since this will NEVER be the case, guns should never be taken away from those who want to own them, PERIOD. Thank you for applying logic to this conversation. Remember you opened this can of worms. His analogy is spot on. I would like to have the best available, such that if the would be intruder had the same, best available weapon, because dont sit on your high horse and suggest that they wouldn’t, i would have a fighting chance to defend myself.

  Not to mention the fact our gov’t is now under investigation for providing arms to said criminals. Notice i said under investigation, i didn’t say providing. I am not a conspiracy nut.

  Thank you for your opinions, we love doing research and learning more and better ways to explain things to people like yourself

  @Fraciscno You speak of the police and military needing these things, and the 2nd amendment is to protect ourselves from corrupt gov’t. You are feeding our point. If the gov’t has assault rifles, as you call them, and civilians only get to have pistols and single sh rifles how would the people defend themselves. If you were attacked and a man came to your rescue with a 6-shooter, and the bad guys had automatic guns, would you be pleased. We have the right to own these guns because they are produced for our gov’t How would we protect ourselves otherwise. You say “The 2nd amendment does not guarantee the rights of nutjobs to put holes in first-graders” I would like to personally thank you for informing all of us this. Good job, you can put a gold star next to the row that says PSA. You SEEM like an educated individual, and having said that, there are many many fields of education. You might want to consider history one to take a peek at, along with current news. Look into the crime rates in major cities that have bans on guns. Educate yourself a little more, before trolling a site that you obviouslt disagree with. You think we are all a bunch of rednecks that just want our guns, but most of us dnt shy away from facts. So having said that if you would like to produce any I am sure we would be glad to listen. Thank you for your time, and i hope you read this with an open mind, or at all.

  I do not believe a single person on this site believes that saving a life brings one back. I also dont think you know what its like.
  A) to save a persons life
  B) to shoot a gun
  C) to live outside your mothers house.

  The belief system is simple. Protect innocent peope, from crazy people with ______(fill in the blank) by being armed yourself.
  If i carry a 6″ pocket knife because guns are banned, i dont think that would do much good against a criminal who had a gun. If i carry a GLOCK23 and he has a ____(fill in the blank) i will win everytime. Take some time and educate yourself without a tv or a newspaper. Find a responsible person and let them take you to a gun range.

  What i dont understand, is that in a society PROCLAIMING pro choice on everything from abortion to gay marriage, saying,
  Dont like gay marriage dont get one
  Dont like cigarettes dont smoke one
  Dont like abortions dont get one
  Dont like alcoholic drinks dont get one
  Blah blah blah

  Well if you dont like guns…. guess what i am going to say, DONT GET ONE !
