  I agree that “the law is the law.” Not sure why some are focusing so much on the parents of the minor. Their opinion of homosexuality is not relevant. Their opinion of homosexuality is not against the law. Their opinion of homosexuality will NOT be on trial. If prosecution can prove that an 18 y/o had sex with a 14 y/o, then the adult that took advantage of a minor will be guilty of a crime. Gender is not the key point.

  Whine about how “intolerant” the parents of the minor are all you want, but it has ZERO bearing on the legality of sex acts by an adult with a minor. Logic > emotions.

  You need to compare those ages to the law(s) of your state during that time period to arrive at a valid conclusion. Also, dating is not against the law. Don’t focus on my comment. Focus on the law of the land. My opinion is 100% a reflection of the laws as written in Florida. Logic > emotion.

  Again, depends on the laws at that time in your relationship. The parents’ feelings don’t change the law, just whether they report or not. If you did break a law, consider yourself lucky. Any adult that takes advantage of my child(ren) will be punished to the full extent of the law. I love my kids.

  Florida law is clear: A minor cannot give consent to an adult in r/t sex. The feelings of the minor don’t have anything to do with anything. Savvy?

  Will background checks stop criminals from getting guns?

  How many law-abiding citizens will be murdered because it was harder for them to obtain a gun with a decent magazine?
