I was there from 2000 to 2002, the problem was not as bad as they all make it out to be….BTS would indeed cause issues with power from time to time, but there were plenty of birds…during my time doing base cleanup detail (A.K.A. driving around in a 6 pack truck picking up trash) we would check the traps on the fence and visited the snake pit…I killed one in my back yard…and saw only two others alive the entire time I was there…it is weird that they are going to drop mice on the island…
Do You Know the Fascinating and Troubling Story About the Woman Behind the Roe v. Wade Case?
January 22, 2013 at 5:27pm
First off, according to http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2510/before-em-roe-em-v-em-wade-em-did-10-000-women-a-year-die-from-illegal-abortions the number was likely 5000-10000 a year with the 10000 being “inflated”, but regardless of that, there have been 54,000,000 abortions since Roe v Wade, that is 54,000,000 people who were not given a “choice” of life, given a roughly half female population you have 27,000,000 women dead compared to 600,000 (number of women plus half the number of female babies of those women) over the same time period. I am a huge proponent of fixing the adoption system and promoting adoption over abortion, I have had family members who waited YEARS for a child through adoption only in the end having to go to another country and adopt three children from one family because our system is that broken.
Microsoft Logo Gets Redesign After 25 Years: Tell Us What You Think About It
August 24, 2012 at 11:51pm
@THE-MONK I purposely ignored those two because NT was the enterprise/network/business version of 95/98 and 2000 was the extension of NT…when I was in the Air Force we used NT/2000 but everybody at home used 95/98/ME during the same time period, so I was really going with the “home” versions aka what everybody used…FYI working on NT computers was a nightmare…my favorite head scratcher for most users was the “NTOSKRNL.EXE is missing or corrupt.”…which almost always meant there was a floppy disk in the drive when the user booted the system so you would go to the users desk hit the button to eject the disk and magically it would boot :)

“With the introduction of Windows 8 so soon after Windows 7″?
Windows 7 came out in July of 2009…that would be 3 years ago
Vista -> 7 = 2 years
XP -> Vista 6 years
ME -> XP = 1 year
98 -> ME = 2 years
95 -> 98 = 3 years
With the exception of the Vista mistake 3 years is actually a long time for Microsoft releases.
United Airlines Under Fire for ‘Losing’ Unaccompanied Minor in Chicago, Stonewalling Parents Efforts to Find Her
August 15, 2012 at 9:45am
I have…I am divorced…my kids live in Texas with their mother…and I live in Maryland…however…my ex-wife takes them to the airport gets a Security Pass and sits with them at the gate until they are on the plane…sticks around until the plane takes off…then when they get to me I get a Security Pass meet them at the gate…and the return trip is exactly the same…I am not sure what adult was responsible in Chicago for this, but it is their fault….however in the event that something goes wrong with everything…and lets say their aircraft gets diverted for some reason the airline MUST contact the parents it is in the agreement that you get…and on top of that you have to pay 100 dollars per child for that service.
Anonymous Claim: ‘We Have Access to Every Classified Database in the U.S. Government’
May 15, 2012 at 9:48am
As somebody who has worked in this community for quite some time, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that these claims are FALSE…the systems that contain the classified information for one does not touch the internet in any way, and two if the info was “leaked” somebody would have depleted all paper in the country to do so…I think somebody may have noticed that. With that said…I have no doubt that anonymous is a dangerous group and have gotten some high level stuff, but to claim access to all DBs is ridiculous.
