  • This is just a sad, sad story. Obviously this mother was crying out for help. I don’t think jail is the right place for her. She needs some mental health help. Damn, if Lindsey Lohan can commit crime after crime & escape jail, why on earth would we put this poor mother in jail? It wasn’t like she was trying to sell her child. She was trying to find him a better place to live. Did she do it the wrong way? Absolutely. But she deserves our compassion…not jail.

  • @Rangerskippy,

I just wanted to commend you on your post. I don’t believe I’ve commented on The Blaze before but I read it several times a day. I always find your replies thoughtful & well written. There are only ever a handful of commenters who actually back up their posts with facts. I just wanted to thank you for that. It’s a shame that the majority of the left can’t see past their talking points & agendas to actually listen to the facts.

    Keep up the good work!

  • @VRW Conspirator…that is a wonderful story. There are always gifts under our tree from Santa Claus. I don’t ever want to lose the magic of Christmas that includes Santa Claus. Santa Claus is not a lie. It’s believing in all things good. Besides, what’s wrong with a little magic at Christmas time.

    We Believe!!

How do you know what a special needs child needs? Do you have one? I do. She is 21 years old. While she doesn’t have DS, she does have an extra chromosome…Trisomy 9p. She is also medically fragile. However, she loves being around groups of people. She thrives best when surrounded by friendly & attentive people. She loves long car rides and travelling as long as we stop for food & diet coke.

While her health has declined lately, she’s lived 20 years longer than doctors gave her, we have no plans to stop travelling with her. How do you know Trig isn’t the same. Stop trying to lump all special needs kids in one big pile to suit your own opinions. They are just as diverse as “typical” people. Some love to travel, others don’t. Some love to socialize, others don’t. Unless you know where Trig falls in his development, you just sound ignorant to those of us with real-world, 24-7, lifetime experience with those “special needs kids”.

My daughter is developmentally a toddler and always will be. However, she knows no prejudice. She loves friendly…doesn’t matter color, politics, or religion. She is the closest thing to God’s love here on earth. No matter how hard the times have been, I thank God everyday for choosing to bless my life with a special needs child.
