  This young man is right, and I applaud his courage in standing up to say what needs to be said. He put his finger on a pressure point of our failed education system, that in order to reach a teach a child you must touch their hearts, inspire passion for learning. Think they’re throwing packets at kids in madrassas?

  People are free to be jerks. Others are not obligated to validate bad behavior by rewarding it with inordinate amounts of attention. It’s heartless for a troll to target families going through the devastating grief of losing a loved one, but what could one jerk’s pathetic play for attention amount to in the face of genuinely profound suffering? The ugliness of his comments reflect back on himself, and we are called to turn the other cheek, but we can also turn to prayer.
