LtCol Jeff Cooper summed it up perfectly.
If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim

Why should we have to pay for politicians protection if they won’t let us protect ourselves?
So do you want to FORCE all other Americans to accept exposure to an increased threat?
Add a gun to ANY environment and the threat of injury or death is significantly increased.
Such is an undeniable FACT.
Another reality. Gun-related injury or death is more often the result of a gun 'introduced' to an environment by someone those in that environment know. One is more likely to be injured or killed by someone with a gun, someone that they know or are 'associated with' - than they are from 'random' violence / associated with a crime.
So, in essence... What this sheriff and others who want to get rid of gun free zones want is...
FORCED exposure to the increased threat which is factually associated with adding a gun to any environment.
Gun free zones force individuals to be exposed to the proven threat of loss of life and/or injury per potential criminal activity.
"So do you want to FORCE all other Americans to accept exposure to an increased threat?
Add a gun to ANY environment and the threat of injury or death is significantly increased."
Doubt it in all circumstances. I’d bet only 2-3% of student body would carry if allowed anyway. And who said anything ablut force? The only thing being forced (or attempted to be forced) is the curtailing of 1A rights in schools.
Hey, JA, here’s an idea: College X allows self protection, College Y allows only multiple armed securtiy guards at significant cost, and College Z bans all guns, or tries to at least. Let’s see what the public decides; who will choose to attend which school?

O’Liar is as bad or worse then the crazy shooter. The crazy person is crazy. O’Liar refuses to take mental health seriously and instead of offering solutions, like better mental health treatment, would rather push his anti-American agenda

It’s easy to take things for granted, displaying signs or symbols of the principles, values and beliefs that made America great is a good reminder for everyone of our historical roots. This winning combination is not pushing a religion, merely stating the facts. You can still believe in whatever deity you choose, or not.

In this day and age where so much is taken for granted, I think it is a good thing to be reminded of our historical roots, the winning combination of principles, values and beliefs that made America the greatest country in the world. That’s not pushing religion, just stating the facts.

if anyone attacked a mosque I would bet it would be another muslim. It’s what they do to each other. Anyone who still believes and follows that garbage , knowing what happens to muslims all over the world from other muslims, is an idiot

Of course I would. Allah and atheists for that matter had nothing to do with the founding values and principles of America.

One day daddy will slip a real bomb in a box and Jr will unknowingly become another martyr for the cause
Yeah and if Saddam Hussein were still alive he would have the $30,000 check ready to give his family after he blew up.
Pappy, folks never remember that when they say Saddam wasn't so bad. He supported the parents of suicide bombers... til the israelies blew up the parents instead and the bombing came to a screeching halt.

NotSoCommonSense hit the nail on the head. It was a government democrat who refused to accommodate Ms Davis request.

Exactly. The atheist movement is basically another liberal socialist movement. They believe in big government and their fellow man. Putting faith in religion is seen as pointless. All these liberal/socialist groups want to remove all signs, symbols and reminders of what made America great. To stop teaching American history, saying the pledge of allegiance, standing for the national anthem, and any trace of our judeo-christian heritage.

When Bill comes out, you know it’s hitting the fan. Some serious arm and ear bending to try to keep Cankles out of jail
Don't think the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" excuse is going to work this time!!!!

Sir, thank you for your service. I don’t care if people do or do not believe in god. I do care when anyone/group wants to destroy the principles and values that make the US the best country in the world. I would be just as against anyone/group who would try to destroy the traditions and values of our armed services.

If you knock religion out of the picture the only thing left to believe in is government. socialist government
 September 23, 2015 at 11:30am
Atheists are un-American. They are against the American way of life. They say it’s only about religion but atheism flourishes where people demonstrate high levels of commitment towards a socially just government and shared economic benefits. Those are socialist values not American values.
For all my fellow ranger atheist; screw you. You will send people to die for a god who will give them ever lasting life, or for 60 virgins. We fight for each other and to our commitment to have free expression and free speak. For right and wrong that we do not need a man in the sky to reconcile it for us.
