  • So here I am. Left USSR 20 years ago just to find myself in USSA on this gloomy and hopeless November morning. By the way, do you know what November 7th is in Russia? It is the anniversary of the Great Socialist Revolution of 1917. Might as well make it a national holiday in America, too.
    I am now seriously considering moving to Texas. My wife is a very good software designer. Her job is portable. My company is on the brink of closing. I guess I have to go through yet another immigration. It is hard. Very hard. I love New England. But I can’t take it anymore.
    I can’t take being told that I have to “give back to the community” as if employing 25 people, helping them put bread on the table every day, hiring local contractors, and dog services, and shopping at local businesses, and paying local taxes is not enough. I did all that and yet I am the one who is not “patriotic”, I am the one who is not “paying fair share”, I am the one who should bite his tongue at social gatherings. I have to pay for people that were born in this country, who didn’t have to leave their friends and relatives behind, who didn’t have to uproot their family and move across the ocean, who didn’t have to learn a new language. No, they are “enlightened” and just “less fortunate”.
    I need to find my Gult’s Gulch. The alternative is only heavy drinking and self-destruction. I can’t do that. I have my wife, children and my two lovely pointers. I have to dust myself off aga
