  • User1 put it correctly; too bad it isn’t a toilet!! Enough sarcasm though. This was the right thing to do. Let them have their “monument” to themselves if it means they will stop crying about having historically sacred images on public view.

They are, as a group, so insecure about themselves that the sight of Godly things causes them pain (think salt on a slug here for the right image). I personally have no issues whatever seeing an homage to science or reason juxtaposed against the 10 commandments, or God forbid, a cross. I’m secure enough in MY faith that an image isn’t going to shake that. They can’t say the same or we wouldn’t be plagued by groups like FFR or other such. Who knows, perhaps it will spark a debate and give us a chance to witness to these poor blind among us!

  • Staples is exercising their 1st Amendment right of freedom of association, and I certainly cannot and will not fault them for that. Please remember though that actions have consequences; you’ve shown where you stand and that is going to cause a huge demographic to show you where WE stand. I have a small business and had used Staples quite a bit. Please note: HAD used them. That will cease forthwith as I exercise my right of association. It may cost me a few extra bucks to buy form the competition but unless they show themselves to be against my values, my money and business will go to them.

  • Newsweek is up for sale (again)

No guys, Newsweek WAS a powerful brand. That was years ago before it became a shameless shill for the left, now only worthy of being birdcage liner when it was in print. Now that it’s digital it has lost even that utility!

  • Good on him for doing a real world ‘social studies lesson’! The students do have (limited) Constitutional rights in school and as a social studies teacher he did a good thing here. The school (as usual) are playing the role of bad guy all too well here.

I hope his students watch closely and learn how power behaves when it’s challenged. As to the teacher, he should engage in another American tradition; file suit against this school.

In another line of inquiry, where’s the Union on this one?

  • I went to the “Jesus in the Shower” article and try as I might, I just don’t see Him. Now the Hithler as a tea pot thing I didn’t catch on my own but as soon as it was suggested, there it was plain as day. Go figure!!

  • Neverending, you are so right about this. There should be 100 signatures in this letter, but of course you’ll note which party is in majority of signatures. That there are a preponderance of R’s should come as no surprise!

  • That last quote will never exit this one’s mouth. He’s constitutionally (ha!) incapable of accepting responsibility for his actions or those he directs.

Grover, last I checked gun running IS a crime! Besides, if we were to invoke your ‘logic’, Nixon himself never did anything illegal either except for as you so quaintly couched it, abused power.

  • you hit that on the head!!

Just wait until Obummer car is in full flower; we’ll have nanny nit-wits here giving this garbage “advice”. BTW, notice how, once again when called for their crap, “we apologize for any offense that may be caused-such was not the intent” weasel words. BULLSPIT!! I was intended; she just had the brass to complain!

  • We’re probably betraying our age by admitting that, but you are absolutely right! We thought it was great fun to ride in the bed of the pickup.

It has much more pleasant once we get a campershell on the bed but it was just commonplace and no one thought a ting of it! Shockingly we all made it to adulthood without big-bro/nanny gubmint in our faces.

  • RICKC34 wrote “Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered”. Let’s use the rest of that beautiful phrase from Resurrection Matins, …”and let those who hate Him flee from before His face!”
