User1 put it correctly; too bad it isn’t a toilet!! Enough sarcasm though. This was the right thing to do. Let them have their “monument” to themselves if it means they will stop crying about having historically sacred images on public view.
They are, as a group, so insecure about themselves that the sight of Godly things causes them pain (think salt on a slug here for the right image). I personally have no issues whatever seeing an homage to science or reason juxtaposed against the 10 commandments, or God forbid, a cross. I’m secure enough in MY faith that an image isn’t going to shake that. They can’t say the same or we wouldn’t be plagued by groups like FFR or other such. Who knows, perhaps it will spark a debate and give us a chance to witness to these poor blind among us!

Staples is exercising their 1st Amendment right of freedom of association, and I certainly cannot and will not fault them for that. Please remember though that actions have consequences; you’ve shown where you stand and that is going to cause a huge demographic to show you where WE stand. I have a small business and had used Staples quite a bit. Please note: HAD used them. That will cease forthwith as I exercise my right of association. It may cost me a few extra bucks to buy form the competition but unless they show themselves to be against my values, my money and business will go to them.

No guys, Newsweek WAS a powerful brand. That was years ago before it became a shameless shill for the left, now only worthy of being birdcage liner when it was in print. Now that it’s digital it has lost even that utility!

Good on him for doing a real world ‘social studies lesson’! The students do have (limited) Constitutional rights in school and as a social studies teacher he did a good thing here. The school (as usual) are playing the role of bad guy all too well here.
I hope his students watch closely and learn how power behaves when it’s challenged. As to the teacher, he should engage in another American tradition; file suit against this school.
In another line of inquiry, where’s the Union on this one?

I went to the “Jesus in the Shower” article and try as I might, I just don’t see Him. Now the Hithler as a tea pot thing I didn’t catch on my own but as soon as it was suggested, there it was plain as day. Go figure!!

Neverending, you are so right about this. There should be 100 signatures in this letter, but of course you’ll note which party is in majority of signatures. That there are a preponderance of R’s should come as no surprise!

That last quote will never exit this one’s mouth. He’s constitutionally (ha!) incapable of accepting responsibility for his actions or those he directs.
Grover, last I checked gun running IS a crime! Besides, if we were to invoke your ‘logic’, Nixon himself never did anything illegal either except for as you so quaintly couched it, abused power.
Impeach Obama and Biden.
Prosecute Clinton and Holder.
Remember back in 2007 when Obama and Bill Clinton were sniffing each orhers butts. Obama wanted Clinton secrets. Bill Clinton survived Jennifer Gate, Vince Gate, White Water Gate, Travel Gate, Monica Gate, and Master Bate Gate
Ha ha ha...you see, Obama's speech writers are so young that they believe that the embarrassment that was Nixon is no longer relevant and that no one remembers him. Obama was so high at the time that he can't remember. So, to them it never really happened. So very very sad, but so very very funny.
I think someone recently made the point publicly that "Obama is no Nixon"
because regardless of whatever else Richard Nixon was.....AT LEAST he
had the character to own it and take responsibility....then resign prior to
He may have been a crook, but he spared the country the embarrassment
of impeachment procedures and just walked away.
The Kenyan Boy King does not possess that kind of character.
Dimitri, I beg to differ. Nixon was never convicted of any crimes, that is true, but later investigations showed he was elbow deep in the Watergate break-in and the subsequent obstruction of justice. He was never impeached because he resigned first. He didn't want to put the country through the heart-break of impeachment proceedings, especially when he knew he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar.

you hit that on the head!!
Just wait until Obummer car is in full flower; we’ll have nanny nit-wits here giving this garbage “advice”. BTW, notice how, once again when called for their crap, “we apologize for any offense that may be caused-such was not the intent” weasel words. BULLSPIT!! I was intended; she just had the brass to complain!

We’re probably betraying our age by admitting that, but you are absolutely right! We thought it was great fun to ride in the bed of the pickup.
It has much more pleasant once we get a campershell on the bed but it was just commonplace and no one thought a ting of it! Shockingly we all made it to adulthood without big-bro/nanny gubmint in our faces.

RICKC34 wrote “Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered”. Let’s use the rest of that beautiful phrase from Resurrection Matins, …”and let those who hate Him flee from before His face!”

Perhaps not the brightest thing in the world to say given the occasion, but come on! There was no malice here and this vet certainly wasn’t offended.
Even if I were so thin skinned as to take offense, not only the real “dead soldiers” we honored yesterday but the live ones as well fought for everyone’s right to speak freely. Whether or not I agree with or like what someone has to say, I’ll defend to the death your right to open and unrestricted speech, and I’d lay good odds that most every other vet on this board would say the same thing.
DIMI, Absolutely correct!! My first thought when I read this story was "where is the Malice" If he did it to get a rise out of people to be offensive, then by all means he should not have said it, but I agree the term should either be a term that should never be used, or quit being so "offended' by every little thing people say. If Conservatives are going to adopt the "feelings" of the Libs, then we are screwed before we start. My Dad used to tell me that if i was going to get "hurt feelings" every time somebody said something I didn't like, then I was going to be pretty miserable the rest of my life.
I miss my Dad now....... On the other hand he would be absolutely insane at the place this country has sunk to. So I guess it is a blessing that he has gone on to his reward. A 1930's Army Veteran, and a WWII Merchant Marine. Rest In Peace Dad. You taught me all you could about being a Conservative, and I thank you.

Give both sides of an argument and encourage THINKING?!?! Why now, we can’t have any of THAT in a school now can we?
Get your kids OUT of public education!! It’s been a form child abuse for several years now and despite those trying, it isn’t going to get any better for quite some time!

For God’s sake, even if the mother faced punishment for exceeding the 1 child rule, what kind of animal does this? When they find her I hope they flush HER down a pipe. Barbaric!
From the way the article is worded, it seems she gave birth elsewhere so this seems a deliberate attempt to “get rid of the evidence”. There may be more to the story than meets the eye though especially since the infant is a male. I would make sense in their context if it were a girl. Dear God, did I just write that sentence?
Now that I’ve finished wiping the coffee I spit on my keyboard while laughing at that headline….
Soul searching? Really?!?!
That poor, stained and tainted thing was lost loooong ago! Let him search a prison cell for it, the POS!

Boy, Hyperion; that ad was good stuff! I can tell you that we’ll be looking into getting at least one for the various weapons we have lying about here!

Well, beyond being truly too stupid to live, Ms hyphen Perry has absolutely no basis upon which to compare this this to slavery. I think she’s using the term in order to get a rise out of her rather gullible listeners.
If we genuinely wanted to have a comparison to slavery, out ******** guests would be in conditions of circa 1950′s Angola which is, when you get right down to it, still better than they deserve!
Baldy, do us a favor and add yourself o that stat, troll!
The reality of veterans committing suicide is nothing new to be sure. What is perhaps new is the lack of any concrete treatment or efforts on the part of the current VA to do anything about it besides bleating on about “what a shame it is”!
