  “I’ve been in a fire fight, I’ve been in a fire fight, I’ve been in a fire fight.” Big deal, you’ve been in some fire fights. That does NOT absolve cops of responsibility.

  The friggin’ facts are staring you in the face, Dangskippy! The cop killed the girl. The situation could not have possibly gone worse than it did. Pretty much everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. What part of that failure for the cop escapes you. Oh sure, the cop went home at the end of the shift – evidently tat was his highest priority that day.

  I hope guilt haunts him the rest of his days. I hope it drive him to drink, take narcotics, and serve himself a .45 cocktail.

  Rangerskippy and other cops busily defending the indefensible,

  You would do yourself well to drop that goofy concept that nobody is entitled to an opinion if they haven’t been a cop or soldier. That’s the height of arrogance.

  Secondly, I am a formally-trained shooter who has trained under some pretty capable instructors. All of them agree that most cops are terrible shooters, with many of them only shooting often enough to squeak by qualifying.

  An opinion on this story can easily be formed by the results of the cop’s actions. Too many cops these days are too quick to start slinging lead downrange in the general direction of the bad guy. If a guy guy gets in the way, oh well, the cop wanted so badly to go home to his family at the end of his shift that he was willing to risk innocent people in order to mitigate risk to himself. It happens hundreds of times each year – this was NOT an isolated incident.

  Typical cop. They whine that their job is dangerous when in reality it is around #24 of the most dangerous jobs. And this story is a perfect example because 90% of them would rather risk and innocent party than to accept any risk for themselves.

  A real man would have accepted that he might just get shot rather than risking shooting the girl. Chickensheet!!!

  When don’t live in the Rochwellish times like when we were kids. Evidently you haven’t noticed that. I hope to God that you’re not raising your kids as though those simple carefree times still exist.

  Questioning authority is the wise thing to do to preserve our freedoms which are under attack. Always question authority.
