  • Lame. She makes good points. I was not thrilled with Bill and his bible-thumping comment, either, but what she says is true: Bill has defended religious freedoms and values many, many times over the years. He is merely saying that invoking the name of God and the word of God will not win legal arguments.

  • For those of you out there who “thump the Bible” as an argument for supporting or opposing any particular law or ruling, I would say this:

Yes, God commands and we should follow His commands and counsels. But please remember, God gave men commandments and laws for a reason, which is to bless us and help us. If you find and can articulate the reasons behind His commandments, that is something that can be used in a court of law, whereas just saying “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it” is not a valid legal argument for anything.

God knows that homosexuality is destructive to men and women and families and society. He knows that people are most happy and grow the most and experience the most joy following the principles He has given us. He knows what sociologists and psychiatrists and researchers will find if they do a 1000-year in-depth study of people and families and civilizations involved in various degrees of homosexuality and all other types of sexual activities. HE KNOWS IT ALL ALREADY. So we need to find those reasons ASAP and articulate them to as many people as possible and as quickly as possible. That is how we will win the argument. We need the truth to be discovered and spread as much and as quickly as we can. The truth will set us all free.

  • As a conservative Christian, my take on this is that the ACLU’s complaint was a bridge too far, and so is this proposed legislation. Stick with he spirit and the letter of the law, and follow our Constitution.

  • Bill should have let Laura speak. He kept interrupting her. And they are supposed to be on the same team, too. That, Bill, does not make any sense to me. Bill, you disappoint me.

  • 1 day = 1 creative period. How long is that creative period? Don’t know, but God does.

I figure that we’ll all come to know this stuff at some point after this life, but I really don’t need all the answers right now. It’s really interesting to know, but not pertinent to my salvation.

At some point in time, pure religion and pure science will be in 100% harmony, for truth is truth is truth. I look forward to that day.

  • I generally like watching this show, and I watch it with my family every week. But, yeah, we all noticed the communist propoganda in the show. It wasn’t good.

I’ll continue to watch the show. But, I have to agree with Bob Beckel on this one…CBS shouldn’t have done the show that way. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed.

  • I really liked his little video montage and his message. I’m straight myself, but have my own sexual issues as a hetero, and they are not always easy for me to deal with. I believe homosexual acts are sinful. I also have friends and one brother who are gay, and I accept them as they are, and I hope that they can and will stay away from sinning by engaging in any type of homosexual acts. I respect this guy a lot for staying celibate despite the same-sex attraction temptations that he feels. And, yes, I’m a Mormon, too.

  • @Theiggies – Apparently, you don’t know how alcohol works and how people using alcohol can kill other people. Study up on that first, and then we’ll talk again another time. Until then, keep learning, my friend!

  • This bill is too limited in its scope.

If they really want to save lives, they need to confiscate cars, cigarettes, alcohol, knives, clubs, tire irons, people with communicable diseases, swimming pools, and all plug-in electrical devices within a 100 ft radius of body of water or water faucet. Oh, and they need to outlaw stress, too, because stress kills.

If I missed anything, please throw that into the bill as well.

  • Why is this a story? It was obviously a joke, no big deal at all. Must be a very slow news day here on the Blaze.
