Florida Police Officer Fired for Bringing Trayvon Martin Targets to Shooting Practice
April 14, 2013 at 7:57pm
You might wish to make your use of ironey a little clearer. At least I take the sobriquet, BOBTHEMORON to indicate you know better.
Take away the skittles and iced tea and the case becomes arguable. With both, the target is clearly intended to reference Trayvon Martin and therefore is just adding to an already bad situation.

Agreed.

You ask: “Why was it right away Zimmerman that lied and treyvon that did not?”
Trayvon Martin couldn’t have lied — he was dead.
That fact alone makes it difficult to obtain a conviction; so Mr. Zimmerman is being put through an expensive trial which is almost certain to end in a mistrial or acquital if he is in fact presumed innocent and guilt beyond a reasonable doubt is required. However, the politicians required political cover from a jury verdict to protect themselves from black voter’s wrath.
But we don’t need police officers treating this as a laughing matter by using Trayvon Martin’s image as a target. He is making his brother officers’ jobs immensely harder and some form of serious discipline is clearly called for.
If some private citizen wishes to use these Trayvon Targets at a private gun club, that’s between him and the other members who would be well advised to forbid the use of such targets as legitimately making the club look racist. With all the spurious charges of racism going around, there is no justication for any one to add to the flames by using overtly offensive symbolism.

Obama’s New Contraceptive Plan: Religiously-Affiliated Groups Can Opt-Out of Birth Control Mandate, But…
February 1, 2013 at 11:51am
I’ll believe it when I see it. If they are backing down, it is most likely only a tactical retreat meant to protect their efforts to require all other employers to provide retroactive contraception and abortion services to their employees – even if that strongly conflicts with the employer’s religious convictions. The effort to require Catholic institutions to provide contraception and abortion services was such a sure loser in court that even the Obama adminsitration may have recognized it and were concerned that their efforts to violate everyone else’s religious liberties might be thrown out along with the case against the Church. Thus by dropping that requirement only for religious organizations, they most llikely intend to continue their efforts to make every other employer violate their religious principles if they object to being complicit in abortion,

If you go to a so-called “second tier” school, it will probably take you at least five years to recover from your education. If you go to an Ivey League school, you will most likely never recover.

It is well known that rotating baseballs, tennnis balls, footballs and even ping pong balls can, in fact, curve in flight. The physics and aerodynamics that cause that curvature are well known and are usually referred to as the Magnus effect. In some cases, it is known as the Robins effect. If you insist on just making stuff up and offering your opinion on subjects that you do not understand, you should consider going in to Climate Research..
Wash. Post Editor Compares Obama’s Newtown Shooting Speech to Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address
December 17, 2012 at 4:39pm
Lincoln managed to avoid use of first person singular in the Gettysburg Address. President Obama is incapable of avoding use of “I”.
To equate Obama’s Newtown Address to Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address shows a lack of understanding of the Gettysburg Address, a lack of understanding of the difference between a very brief and to the point biblical allusion and a long biblical quotation. There is no quick hit opening in Newtown Address. There is no extended analogy. No big close. There are far too many words in Obama’s Newtown Address.
President Obama could draw a stick figure and David Maraniss would say that it surpasses the Mona Lisa, thinking that he can thereby prove he’s not a racist. In my view, he proves otherwise.

Read more carefully. The Army knew better than to take him. Wonder which came first – the atheism or the clinical depression and anxiety? Coward he may be; but he was never going to see gold bars on his shoulders – much less lead troops in combat. Maybe the brass are smarter than the “Atheists and Freethinkers” realize.
