Cops ‘Disgusted’ After NYU Asks Students to Plot a ‘Hypothetical’ Terrorist Attack
October 29, 2012 at 11:17am
Excuse me folks: I’m an army vet; a Conservative; a Christian; a Constitutionalist; hold a Ph.D. in History; teach in two graduate programs; have taught for the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps and done ‘wargaming’ work for the military. The assignment as described is exactly what DoD, DHS, DoJ ought to be doing all the time. And graduate students in a graduate course on transnational terrorism ought to understand the terrorist mindset, strategy and tactics in order to complete the course and get an MA in the field. This is an outstanding assignment. Now if NYPD is doing their job they’ll have a few of their own counter-terrorist folks taking the course to improve their own skills. And if DoJ, DHS, and DoS were doing their jobs instead of all the stupid things they are doing, we wouldn’t have to worry about terrorists in American Universities so that we would know the grad students in the course were honestly interested in working for the government and for major businesses which have to be cognizant of the terrorist threat. Let’s get real folks, if you don’t know yourself and your enemy you are doomed to a thousand defeats.
U.N. Official Warns: Electing Mitt Romney Means ‘Democratic Mandate for Torture’
October 22, 2012 at 8:42am
There is a process in diplomatic relations known as a declaration of “persona non grata” I think after January 20th that the State Department under new management ought to start using it on a much wider scale, say perhaps the entire staff of the United Nations declared “persona non grata” and invited to leave. We could then use the UN complex in New York as an “Urban Paintball Championship” center and all the housing currently occupied by UN Ambassadors and their staffs will be available to relieve the homeless situation in the Greater New York Area. And finally the parking situation in New York City will be much better without the hundreds of cars that routinely park illegally and without consequence due to diplomats using Diplomatic Immunity to avoid traffic and parking fines….. hmmmm http://www.rd.com/advice/diplomatic-immunity-going-too-far/

What Do You Think About This Bible Translation That Reads Like a Hollywood Screen Play? (Poll)
July 30, 2012 at 11:33am
the key issue to explore in this translation is, like it is with anything else the emergent church does, Is Jesus the Son of God? Does His death on the cross justify us before God the Father, does His resurrection give us assurance of eternal life, and is the road to salvation only through belief in Jesus’s saving actions? And finally if you don’t believe that Jesus is the Christ are you going to hell? The emergent church is nothing less than the 21st century version of the old lie…. jesus is a great moral teacher that we should seek to emulate but that there are many paths to “god”, there is no hell because it’s all about living a good life …… yep same old lie straight from the enemy.

‘The Potential to Wreak Havoc’: Critics Respond to Pastor Mark Driscoll’s Book About Sex & Marriage
January 9, 2012 at 11:44am
@JZS, it is clear that your experience of Christ-followers is limited to the media as opposed to actually knowing and understanding us, I used to there too. We know that no one is perfect, we are deeply flawed as humans and that there is no way we can actually fulfill all of God’s command, which is exactly why we need to the atoning Blood of Jesus. We know we are not and can never be ‘righteous’ in anyway other than the righteousness bestowed to us by God. God is perfect in every sense. God is perfectly loving, but love implies a choice on our part as well. God is also perfectly just and our failure to meet His perfect standard requires punishment — a punishment that is satisfied by Jesus’ suffering and death on the Cross. We are rendered righteous by that act by God. Jesus’ rising from the dead on Resurrection Sunday is the act that defeated Satan. So what does all this mean….. yep Christians tend to be imperfect… it is called being Human. But while we are called to journey with and follow Jesus, Jesus is also there to help us up when we stumble. This doesn’t me we are free to wallow in sin, we must repent and earnestly seek Him and earnestly seek to follow him, but to charge Christians with being hypocritical is to hold us to an impossible standard and only one person has that right… the Perfect Creator God of the Universe, the Perfect Judge and the Perfect Atonement. But it’s ok JZS, Jesus also teaches us to forgive our enemies. So you’re for

Are We Religion Illiterate?
September 28, 2010 at 10:38am
I’m an evagelical Christian, but came late to my walk with God, I got ten out of ten on the mini-quiz. My impression was the mini-quiz at least was a world religions test than a Bible quiz. The Question on Luther is at best debateable since there were many precursers to Luther and one could make the argument that Thomas Aquinas’ synthesis of Christianity and Aristotlean philosophy is what sparked the opposition among other theologians and led to the Reformation. But bottom line, the quiz was mislabled and poorly described by CNN.
