9 Faith-Based (and Secular) Alternatives to the Boy Scouts of America Amid Furor Over Gay Ban

It cut my comment off:
It’s not about molestation. It’s about my family’s values. I don’t want someone else altering them.
9 Faith-Based (and Secular) Alternatives to the Boy Scouts of America Amid Furor Over Gay Ban

If there was a leader who was coming to the meetings intoxicated, he would be asked to leave because it’s against the bylaws…even though alcoholism has been shown to be something you can be genetically prone to be.
If there was a man in our troop who was known to hit on the women of the troop (moms in leadership or just there at the meeting), and make them feel uncomfortable, I’d ask him to leave. He’s not living up to the moral code.
It’s 100% the same way I wouldn’t want a man who’s attracted to other men into the unit, nor should there be a boy who’s attracted to other guys into the unit. It’s against the moral code established by the BSA and expected by the boys to follow in a faith-based, private organization. In this private organization, you expect a certain level of comfort — especially for a maturing boy — that the guy in your tent is just another guy, and not someone who’s attracted to you.
The policy of the BSA — ***IF*** the unit follows the Safe Scouting rules — is two-deep leadership. There has to be two adult leaders at all times present so nothing untoward occurs. Yeah, there are straight perverts out there, and this lessens the chances for them to do anything. However, I still don’t want to have two homosexual men — fulfilling Safe Scouting rules — having the opportunity to take my son aside, and even saying, “Well you know, there’s nothing *wrong* with liking other boys.”
It’s not about molestation. It’s about my fam
Breakfast of Champions: Mountain Dew Rolls Out Breakfast Drink

Whenever I go to a restaurant for breakfast and they also serve Pepsi products, I’ve been ordering a glass of half Dew and half orange juice for years. Quite tasty. It’s like a virgin caffeinated momosa. :)
Merry Christmas From TheBlaze Magazine: The Real Story of St. Nick
December 22, 2012 at 11:09am
I’m not going on an anti-Catholic rant, but celebrating the Nativity was done at the same time traditionally as celebrating Theophany (Christ’s baptism). That’s January 6 (oddly enough “12 days” after Christmas). Yes, the Catholics moved it to the 25th to supplant the pagan traditions, but Roman traditions of controlling the plebs were hard to break.

The Nativity was celebrated on a completely different day originally…Rome just changed it later. You’re right, Dec. 25 was a pagan Roman holiday, but the Eastern church always celebrated the Nativity with Theophany on January 6. It’s not like no one ever celebrated it until they wanted to supplant the pagan rite “just because” as if it was the earliest of Hallmark holidays. You’ve got the order wrong.

This is such a load of crap! When I was running the Cub Scouts Popcorn sale a few years ago, I called our local Target and they said that that corporate has a policy of not honoring ANY charity organizations so that they don’t have to isolate any others. Now…they’re supporting a pro-SSM one?
Yeah, I’m done with Target.

Men HAVE no right to sex. We ALWAYS wait for it.
Man: I would like sex.
Woman: No.

Woman: I would like sex.
Man: OK.
Unless you’re Al Bundy, that’s pretty much the way it works.
Actor Kirk Cameron: Homosexuality is ‘Unnatural’ and ‘Destructive’

Sin leading to death = non repentance, and continuing in the sin.
Sin not leading to death = repenting of the sin.
Actor Kirk Cameron: Homosexuality is ‘Unnatural’ and ‘Destructive’

OK, had to look up the specific verse in my Orthodox Study Bible to get the meaning behind the phrase.
The reference of “sin leading to death” is that which is beyond prayer, beyond repentance: the willful, continual disbelief in the grace of the Holy Spirit to us. So, basically, it’s talking about the refusal to repent, the refusal that God can save us, and the continuation of living in our sin.
