  Actually, that is inaccurate. We are spirit beings. We have souls (mind, emotions and will) and we live in human bodies. 1 Thessalonians 5:23:”Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
  The spirit will live for eternity in the place we have chosen. The soul goes with the spirit. The body returns to dust.
