Who Is the One Conservative That Rush Limbaugh Says Has Every Democrat ‘Scared to Death’?
March 19, 2013 at 11:06pm
How about he runs for senate or congress first so he has a voting record we can examine? He had some great comments about Obamacare right in front of Obama, made everyone cheer, but what else do we know about him? I’ve heard that he says in big cities people shouldn’t be allowed to carry semi-automatic guns. Reminds me of Chris Christie, everyone’s darling when he was putting those teachers in their place at town halls and stuff, then the guy actually started governing and opening his yapper to attack conservatives. Let’s see your record before we jump in and get excited about you.
I wonder if Rush will be as excited about Carson if/when the guy gets elected to congress and starts voting to raise the debt ceiling, continuing resolutions to fund obamacare, and continued infringement of our civil liberties. We’ve got a great presidential choice for 2016. His name is Rand Paul and he has a record to stand on.
Elizabeth Warren Wonders: Why Aren’t Employers Paying $22-an-Hour Minimum Wage Rates?
March 19, 2013 at 5:04am
The real issue is why the minimum wage was the equivalent of $26/hour back in 1964 when our coins were still silver and we had a gold standard. It was $1.25/hour back then. The real issue is why do we let the federal reserve get away with devaluing our currency so that our dollars have less purchasing power. Legalize gold and silver again (it’s in the Constitution) and stop charging a capital gains tax whenever someone sells their gold and silver. Create currency competition and let the Fed’s paper money compete with gold and silver and let’s see who wins. Well, we know the Fed would lose in that scenario, but we the people would win big time with sound money once again.
Until that happens, we’re doomed to further decline. It’s no wonder why in the 1960′s families could prosper on a single income. The money was actually worth something back then. Now, it’s practically a given that both spouses need to work just to survive, which means less time spent raising their children to be good citizens. The Fed is truly evil and we need to get back to Constitutional money.
TheBlaze Drone Poll – Where Do You Stand On The Subject Of Drones at Home and Abroad?
March 5, 2013 at 10:18pm
Yeah we should sorta revisit our thinking on Lincoln. Not the great president or person everyone makes him out to be. Calvin Coolidge should have a monument in his honor, not Lincoln.
TheBlaze Drone Poll – Where Do You Stand On The Subject Of Drones at Home and Abroad?
March 5, 2013 at 10:13pm
Um, careful about that…several people at high levels of the government have labeled the tea party, ron paul supporters, and returning military vets as potential terrorists. They’ve out and out labeled tea partiers as terrorists. It’s not much of a stretch to take it further. Maybe when the drones are hunting you you may wish you had the security of due process. What is so damn hard about producing evidence and charging the alleged terrorist with a crime? Anwar al-Awlaki, bad dude right? Well, he wasn’t charged or anything, yet he and his 16-year old American son were assassinated in separate drone strikes.
Why Did Sen. Rand Paul Vote To Confirm Chuck Hagel? Here’s His Answer
February 27, 2013 at 12:17pm
I hope we remember that he voted with integrity on this vote. On some major votes, Chuck Hagel has a better voting record than Rick Santorum. Do you despise Rick Santorum, too? You see, establishment, pro-perpetual war Republicans get a pass from the Fixed News, talk radio crowd because they are pro-war. So-called conservatives will absolutely destroy other actual conservatives like Ron Paul for the sole reason that he is non-interventionist and prefers only legally declared, constitutional wars.
The mask is coming off the “conservative” agenda. It’s all about perpetual war and militarism. The talk about freedom, the constitution, liberty, etc. is all just lip service and nothing more.
Nevermind that Rand is THE warrior on cutting spending, fixing the debt crisis, and protecting civil liberties. He speaks out strongly against Obama’s drone strikes and assassinating a 16-year old American boy who “should have had a better dad”. The establishment hacks will use this vote to dismiss Rand Paul as a candidate in 2016. All he did here is prove he is an independent thinker and he’s not beholden to the RINOs in DC.
Why Did Sen. Rand Paul Vote To Confirm Chuck Hagel? Here’s His Answer
February 27, 2013 at 12:11pm
Agree with most of this, but Romney didn’t lose because of independents. Independents voted for him by a wide margin in the swing states. It was the conservative grassroots that he peed on during the RNC that stayed home and didn’t vote. He didn’t motivate the grassroots in the least bit. His campaign acted arrogantly and all but told the grassroots they didn’t want or need their support. They thought they had this election in the bag even without the grassroots, so they changed the rules at the RNC to cement Romney as the nominee in 2016, which makes me wonder what he was planning on doing that was so bad that there would be a Republican primary challenger in 4 years.
Why Did Sen. Rand Paul Vote To Confirm Chuck Hagel? Here’s His Answer
February 27, 2013 at 12:08pm
The reason the Republican establishment opposes Hagel is that he dared to speak against our 51st state, Israel, and he believes in a more humble foreign policy. The guy was a war hero and the president should have some leeway with whom he appoints. When a guy like Rand Paul bucks the rest of the party, we all ought to be thinking long and hard about why he is likely right and they are likely wrong. The Republican establishment has been getting it wrong for decades.
Look at some of Hagel’s votes, then tell me he is such a bad guy:
Voted for the Patriot Act (I disagree with this vote)
Voted for the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts
Voted against No Child Left Behind
Voted against Bush’s Medicare prescription drug bill
Voted against McCain-Feingold
We criticized the Republicans for their terrible spending record during the Bush years and we’re led to believe that people like Rick Santorum are conservatives. Santorum voted for the Bush Medicare expansion and No Child Left behind. That’s not conservative in the least. It was Chuck Hagel who voted against McCain’s attack on free speech, Bush’s budget busting Medicare expansion, and Ted Kennedy’s doubling the size of the department of education. So, why is Rick Santorum Glenn Beck’s hero and an acceptable “conservative” to people like Rush, Hannity, and Levin? In a nutshell, it’s because he believes in perpetual war. Who cares about the rest of his record? The inverse is also true (see Ronald Ernest Paul).
Dem Congressman Explodes on Fox News, Calls Sean Hannity ‘Immoral’ and a Lying ‘Shill for the Republican Party’
February 26, 2013 at 11:22pm
That’s exactly right. Hannity is a Republican shill, but Ellison is also a Democrat shill. It’s a good reason to not watch Fixed News or listen to the heavyweights in talk radio. If you want to hear intelligent conservative arguments that are truly focused on the Constitution, you’ll listen to people like Peter Schiff, Judge Napolitano, Tom Woods, Jason Lewis, et al. You’re not going to find principled conservative arguments on Fox News. You’re going to get the go along to get along neo-con establishment Republican argument that the GOP needs to always cave in and be more like the left.
Prominent Author: Boehner Complained to Me That Obama Has ‘Balls Made Out of Marshmallows’
February 25, 2013 at 10:55pm
Really now? Obama may have balls made of marshmallow, but Boehner has no balls at all, at least when it comes to doing the right thing. When it comes to cheating and disenfranchising the Republican grassroots at a national convention, he’s got balls of steel. What a POS.
Guess Which Popular Republican Governor Will Not Be ‘Invited’ to CPAC…
February 25, 2013 at 10:50pm
You’re good with Ron Paul, but Ryan and Rubio are establishment light (i.e. they talk a good conservative game but they vote how Boehner and McConnell tell them to more often than not). Ryan and Rubio vote consistently to expand the militarism and diminish our liberty at home voting for legislation like internet censorship and indefinite detention of Americans without due process. They also have a habit of voting for trillions in debt ceiling increases.
Did some research on Rubio’s Americans For Prosperity rating of 100% whereas Rand Paul only scored around 90%. You’d think based on this, Rubio is more conservative than Rand, right? Well, no. The reason Rand was scored down was that he voted twice against Paul Ryan’s budget that would balance the budget by 2040, a mere 27 years from now. Rubio voted for it and thus is judged as a better conservative than Paul.
Americans for Prosperity should lose every ounce of credibility they once had for this sham of a scorecard. If you think we have 27 years to balance the budget without completely destroying the futures of millions of young people, you’re certifiably insane.
