I’d expect that excuse from the White House OR a toddler.

I think this woman was just hired to lie. Does she have any value other than that?

Who are “Bohener and McCullough”? If you are going to talk trash, at least get their names right…

So are you aware of the context that verse was written? Check it out and then get back to me. Picking a verse out of context from “that ******* book” and making it fit your argument, doesn’t do much for your argument.
more biblical context?
Of Course !!
How else could theists wiggle their way out of their nonsensical logic?
By claiming we are taking scriptures out of context !!
" We must defend the Bible at all costs !"
" No matter how ridiculous it sounds !"
Otherwise, theists may grow some doubt in their faith.
Methinks their religious foundation is built on shaky ground

Why would you care?
 March 25, 2015 at 2:40pm
Don’t you believe that Richard Dawkins had an agenda there also? He’s an Atheist. He isn’t a superior being that I need to listen to.
I know what's written in the Bible too.
Which is why I don't believe it and can say with all confidence that it is not a moral guide.
Blink, if the Bible is not a moral guide, then what is it, a cookbook?
"I know what’s written in the Bible too."
No you don't, you don't even know that the writings of the prophets (like Isiah) are not even part of 'the Bible'.
"Which is why I don’t believe it and can say with all confidence that it is not a moral guide."
Yes because loving you neighbor and not murdering in the phiony name of animal rights or for the abortion industry, is so 'immoral', right?
You seem to be getting the Bible confused with the Torah. Isiah is a part of the Bible.
"You seem to be getting the Bible confused with the Torah. Isiah is a part of the Bible."
Torah is the first 5 books of
Moses AKA the Jewish Bible, and Isiah is not part of that.
Guess what genius? When 99% of people say "the Bible" they mean the old and new testaments, not whatever version you are thinking of.
"Guess what genius? When 99% of people say “the Bible” they mean the old and new testaments, not whatever version you are thinking of."
Guess what genius, the N.T, still is not Isiah.
Besides that obvious point that you still missed, the fact is that you atheistsn try and lump all G-d based religions together as one and the same and they aren't.
That is the point I am making about the Jewish bible (which is the whole and original O.T.
not 'a version' by the way) iwhich you still obviously can't understand (or don't want to understand).
I'm still not an atheist.
Isiah is still a part of what is most commonly referred to in English as "the Bible". If you mean the Jewish Bible, you should specify because, again, in English, that is not what is meant by the term "the Bible".
You are just being willfully stupid about it.
"I’m still not an atheist."
Yeah like someone caught in a raid isn't a criminal even though he hangs with them all the time and supports them and is friends with them and never has anything to say against them.
"Isiah is still a part of what is most commonly referred to in English as “the Bible”.
Show me an official religious source specifically saying so.
I've never seen it.
"If you mean the Jewish Bible, you should specify because,"
I usually do.
But by the same token if you mean the Christian Bible then you should specify.
Don't demand that I do something that you yourself won't do.
" again, in English, that is not what is meant by the term “the Bible”.
Again, prove it.
"You are just being willfully stupid about it."
You are, and further showing you have no argument because you have to resort to nothing but name calling in typical stupid liberal fashion.
You've never seen that the vast majority of people who speak English mean the Christian Holy Bible when they say "the Bible"?
You you are either a serious idiot or a total liar. Which would you prefer?
I don't need to specify because anyone who is not an idiot like you will know what I'm talking about. I'm not the one making myself look foolish by not understanding common terms.
Thank you for your excellent demonstration of willful stupidity. I'm sure more will follow.
"You’ve never seen that the vast majority of people who speak English mean the Christian Holy Bible when they say “the Bible”?"
Not when claiming that ALL religion is evil or 'fairy tales' or any of the other false claims made against ANY belief in G-d which they say includes Judaism, if asked specifically if they mean to include 'ALL religion ' without exception.
I have never seen any anti 'bible' claim about it all being 'fraudulent' (or whatever term you want to use to attack the 'silly' idea of belief in G-d) by any atheist who when asked, ever said 'only the Christian bible, not the Jewish one'.
"You you are either a serious idiot or a total liar. Which would you prefer?"
No that applies to you, so which do you prefer to be known as?
"I don’t need to specify because anyone who is not an idiot like you will know what I’m talking about."
You do need to specify because anyone who is not a total moron like you know that when 'the bible' is attacked by atheists they mean to include ALL bibles from both Christianity and from Judaism.
"I’m not the one making myself look foolish by not understanding common terms."
Obviously you are, in this context at least.
"Thank you for your excellent demonstration of willful stupidity."
Actually you demonstrated yours.
"I’m sure more will follow."

In the context he spoke, I agree.

Don’t think Glenn has ever said he was Christ. Dr Carson’s statement did sound pretty stupid and he opened himself up for that criticism.
I never said Beck was Christ. Didn't even suggest it. All I said was don't sit and preach religion and Christ like attributes if you are not able to live up to those standards and then tell everyone else to try it too. Yeah nobody is perfect, not me, not Dr. Carson or even Beck, but Beck didn't have to take the amount of time he did to run down Dr. Carson the way he did. To what end did Beck do that? What was he trying to accomplish by doing that? To tell everyone he believes Carson is a farce and not a good person and that he is a stupid man? Oh and to make sure that all of those listening know that Carson is not the right man to be president of this country?
All I said was I lost a lot of respect for Mr. Beck because of that and how Beck handled it was childish and not very Christ like.

Dang Mysterymeat, you aren’t real bright or maybe I should say informed but luckily artistic. I live in one of those red states but funny thing…our state doesn’t operate in the red. Perhaps you need to be as informed as you are creative.

I just want a cup of coffee. I don’t want to discuss race relations with someone whose career is serving coffee.

Hell must have frozen over.

Glad you got it all figured out dst…..did they have you testify at the trial?
He's an ex-pastor because he famously became a universalist-- one who believes that God will ultimately save everyone, because, hey, He's just too loving to send anyone to hell. He was as wrong there as he is here. Somewhere along the way, this guy's worldly success started going to his head, and he started making it up as he went along. He and Joel Osteen are very much alike in this, and I don't listen to either one of them.

She doesn’t look happy at all so I’m doubting she liked it. I would have given the dirty old man an elbow to the gut!

I thought that WAS nice…much nicer than what I call him!
 February 16, 2015 at 2:53pm
So who/what is the pastor fact-checking with? Why don’t all clergy agree on the “facts”?
I would say because, in general, that religion doesn't deal with facts. It deals with people's interpretations of what they think a given diety said.
Lots of clergy (I know) as you call them don't take the text seriously enough are just glad that people are having some religious thoughts. They also struggle with the "blindspots" that we all struggle with.
Because some people believe in misconceptions and continue to teach them without fact checking from the source. For example many believe Lucifer is Satan. If they read Isaiah 14 in it's entirety and looked at key phrases they'd see the truth. Isaiah 14:4 that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say...16“Those who see you will gaze at you,
And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms (Satan isn't a man) 19-21 But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, Like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot. 20 You will not be joined with them in burial,
Because you have destroyed your land And slain your people. The brood of evildoers shall never be named. 21 Prepare slaughter for his children Because of the iniquity of their fathers, Lest they rise up and possess the land, And fill the face of the world with cities.... Satan can't die nor is he able to procreate. Besides the prophecies before and after this are about the people and lands thereof. Why in the middle of it would Isaiah go off and talk about Satan then back to the kingdoms? Therefore verse 4 is the key verse. People would benefit by studying more and accepting false doctrine less. Always check with God's word to get the truth.
