  AMDATME, the Good Samaritan was a hero to the man whose life he saved by showing cmpassion. He dressed the man’s wounds, took him to a safe place, and paid for his aftercare. That’s heroic. A hero doesn’t have to be defined by some death defying stunt. Still, I agree the term is casually thrown about nowadays. People moved to compassion who go out of their way to preserve the lives of others are heroes and champions. If they’re getting a paycheck, they’re just employees.

  Carson believes that people supporting Obama and the Democratic party are not thinking for themselves. I suspect he believes himself supremely qualified to do their thinking for them. Meanwhile, let him ask why many “Irish” and lost cause confederates now support the Grand Old Party. Who is doing their thinking? Carson proved himself to be an arrogant grandstander by taking a prayer meeting out of context to attack the President. Obama, in his signature style, did what he did during these past two elections. He complimented Carson, to his surprise; and thus, played him to the left.

  “God hates the sin, not the sinner,” sounds trite but is very biblical. No one is righteous according to the law. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God has called sinners everywhere to repentance. Homosexuals are no more sinners than anyone else…and no less. Guilt is its own association and everyone’s on the membership committee.
