  • Keaton33 – The term “well regulated”, as used in the 2d Amendment, did not mean controlled by regulations. In late 1700 terms, it meant a properly functioning militia, or clock, or whatever. In fact, in the US Government of the early 1800s to 1900 regulations, as we know them, didn’t exist. But don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself. Here’s a few links to get you started:

  • Gee Dadrocked. Perhaps you should read the article, or even consider doing a quick Google (gasp!) before putting your comment in. The article states that Chan is a native of Hong Kong. When Hong Kong was a Crown Colony, with a 99 year lease, he was a British citizen. When Hong Kong was turned over to the People’s Republic of China (PRC), he became a citizen of that Communist country. The article states “He is passionately political, a staunch defender of the Chinese Communist Party and harsh critic of anyone he sees as opposing Beijing.”

Jackie Chan has never been a citizen of the United States. That was Charlie, back in the 30s and 40s.

  • Mr. Shapiro does a fairly good job. But not a perfect job.

    1. An Assault Rifle is a select fire fully automatic weapon. It is NOT a semi-automatic looks like rifle.

    2. He let Morgan get away with “40% of all gun sales in the US are accomplished without background checks. This is impossible to know. A sale without a check, by Federal Law, is a sale by a private individual to another private individual (outside of CA where such sales are illegal). There are no records and the percentage is unknowable. All sales by dealers, whether at their store or at a gun show must have a background check. Most sales at gun shows are dealer sales.

    3. He supports background checks for all sales, dealer and private. Well, he’s from CA where private sales are essentially illegal. In CA the sale involves a gun dealer as the Federal background check is available only to FFL holders. There are people in the rest of the country who are opposed to paying a dealer to sell to a neighbor or give a gift to a spouse, son or daugher (or grandchild).

  • Knockered – they aren’t idiots, or incompetent, at Dear Leader’s campaign. They will do anything to feed the MSM ideas for keeping the discussion away from the economy, energy production, health care and jobs, jobs, jobs. That isn’t incompetence. Did I mention jobs? They know exactly what they are doing, Did I remember to mention jobs? They know they can’t allow the discussion to come around to Dear Leader’s performance. Remind me to mention jobs.

Ed – who is retired and not taking a job from anyone looking for a job.

  • I’m astounded at the number of people who think the Judge is correct. The pastor spoke to the media after the last hearing. There are always media people around the courthouse trying to get comments from people involved in hearings and trials. I don’t know what “admonition” the Judge is referring to, but unless this Judge issued a formal “gag order” prohibiting any comments by participants, there is absolutely nothing wrong with speaking to the media. Something like “I don’t want you talking to reporters.” is not a formal order.

The Judge should have recused himself from this case before he even entered the courtroom, he was incapable of rendering justice. His behavior was reprehensible. He has no evidence of a causal connection between the pastor talking to a reporter and news coverage of his being a deadbeat on his HOA dues, yet he threatens the pastor because of the news coverage. Maybe he should have paid the dues.

The pastor was a danged fool to appear in court without an attorney. He certainly needs to get an attorney and see what can be done about this case and this Judge. Even a person accused of a felony deserves better in our courts.

  • Joker 50: It is just called development. “Sustainable development” has a definition of “no development”.

  • Wamdamurline: What makes you think that Christie is a Conservative? He’s in favor of gun control, he refuses to oppose Obamacare and he also supports the Global Warming scam. Doesn’t sound like any kind of Conservative to me. He is reported to be tight on spending, though I haven’t checked his Administration’s spending and budgeting to see if he really has cut spending overall, or cut in some places to spend elsewhere.

  • CatB – I stated, pretty clearly, why I thought Lowes was the better store. I then added that their decision to pull the advertising (that part was an unstated, yet understood, part of my last sentence) was one more reason to shop there. I’m sorry if that was too complex for some folks to understand.

  • I’ve always thought Lowes was better than Homers. The employees are better informed and more helpful. Now I just have another reason to choose Lowes over Home Depot.

  • Of those comments which I have read, every one concerning knowledge of the rules assumes the rules were as they are now when the Vaskos bought their condo. I don’t know what the rules were at that time, but we should understand that HOA rules can, and do, change at the direction of the board (or other authority running the HOA).

Personally, I would not buy a home in an HOA area. But I do understand that in many areas of the country it is nearly impossible to buy a new home which does not come with an HOA. Builders love the danged things. Why people give over their freedom and control of their property to others is beyond me, but so is voting for a near Communist for President.
