  • Just more idiots in government. What we need is term limits for all politicians. One term, six years, and you’re done. That way maybe some of these fools will do what’s best for the country instead of the giveaways they hope will get them re-elected.

  • And you sir are an idiot. The only way to fix this government now is to tear it down and start over. We’ve reached the point where the takers outnumber the givers, which will lead more and more to a socialist state and the end of America as we know it.

  • The Republicans just committed suicide. They were going to have a hard enough time winning the next election regardless. Now that they’ve pissed off their base and will have no chance. Did they really think Democrats are going to switch over to the Republicans because some of they voted for this tax increase? I’m done with the Republications. I’ll either go Libertarian or wait for a real conservative party to be started. Other than that I’ll just watch the US go to hell cause that’s where it’s headed.

  • People who want to kill will find a way to get guns. One source estimates there are 350,000,000 guns in the United States. My guess is that if they had a few armed security guards or teachers at the school there would have been a lot fewer dead children. We are going to hell. Family values are disappearing, families are disappearing, morality is disappearing. Until you address those issues these types of incidents are going to happen.

  • ““For the party in general, however, the problem is hardly structural. It requires but a single policy change: Border fence plus amnesty,” he wrote. “Yes, amnesty. Use the word. Shock and awe — full legal normalization (just short of citizenship) in return for full border enforcement.”

This approach worked so well for Reagan. We gave amnesty for three million illegals and got nothing in return. What would happen is all the illegals would get amnesty, the fence would never happen, and full legal normalization would eventually turn into citizenship.

  • Unfortunately I agree with all of this, except for maybe your last sentence since I don’t know what the end was. Like most minorities Latinos are part of moocher nation. To think they will vote Republican because of some social stance is absurd. They will vote for whomever gives them the most stuff.

  • I am a PhD level statistician and people can easily lie with statistics. The claims made above would be extremely difficult, if not impossible to prove. As one source Kornacki quotes the John Hopkins University Center for Gun Control. I’m sure they are going to be totally unbiased in their conclusions. To make their arguments hold up one would have to prove that domestic abuse that resulted in homicide through use of gun would not have the same result had a gun not been available. There are so many factors that come into play in determining whether someone will kill as the result of a domestic dispute it’s not clear how you would make that determination.

Regardless, many gun control arguments simply ignore the benefits of owning a gun. They ignore the number of lives saved, the number of robberies thwarted, and the number of homicides committed when guns are banned. Simply put, if someone wants to kill you they will find a way. Shooting someone nine times means you really want them dead. If not a gun, it would have been something else.

  • So what exactly are the conditions for this cease fire?

  • I wish Blaze posters would just ignore THE_JERK. He searches anti-Semitic Muslim websites from which he culls his information. It’s not worth arguing with this guy. He has no clue as to the real history of the region and just like Obama would be pleased if all the Jews just went away. Arguing with him just allows him to spew his hate.

  • America is on the way out. The takers outnumber the givers. The only option now for Conservatives is to wait for all hell to break lose as the result of a trashed economy. That will lead to civil unrest and when the dust finally settles maybe we can get back to the principals upon which this once great country was founded.
