So you are saying that you want to force someone to pray or worship a deity that they do not believe in….thought that was why you were against this to begin with. Whatever happened to free speech, whatever happened to the freedom of religion? The whole idea of totally secular schools is foolish. What atheists fail to understand, is that there is no neutrality when it comes to God. Secularism is opposed to God, not neutral….

I am not sure what bus you are trying to save us Christians from, because if as you say, there is no God then there is no bus and it does not matter what I believe about the afterlife. On the other hand, if there is a God, then there is a bus headed your way that you need saving from. I cannot save you only God has provided that way.

Sosorryforyou , you are right this one act, as a stand alone, wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but it coupled with every other act of narcissism, and self promotion is telling…
This PoTUS cares nothing for anything but his own ego. He cares very little about the troops, of even you or me…

While agree hat this President is a weak Pres., exactly what would a strong president do? Retaliate? Against who? And Why? What does a Malaysian plane shot down over Ukriane have to do with US national security?

I see alot if people on this site talking about this story, while the superintendent’s “interpretation” is wrong, so are most of the commenters. The constitution is a compact amongst the states delegating certain authority to the general government. The bill of rights is a list of negative rights that the general government has to refrain from. Unless the state of Illinois has in its own constitution a statement about gun rights the state is free to regulate the heck out of guns. I think they would be stupid to do so, but I live in a state that protects my right to bear arms. The constitution is not incorporated, and does not apply to the individual states, but only to the general government.
Your statements are false. No State can regulate, levy special taxes, require registration, licensing or other permission related rules on the people in relations to Arms. Amendment 2 is a sentence with two subjects and when the preposition and adverb phrases are removed states: "A militia, the right shall not be infringed", Amendment 2 is an absolute prohibition. When Article 6 is considered that is further clarified. Only Amendment 1 applied to Congress only.

I am sure that someone else has already said this, but if the policy states that he needs at least one “functional” leg, they have a real problem. His legs might be artificial, but he is walking on them and standing on them, that sounds “functional” to me.
Anyone say lawsuit….

reading through this article, it sounds like the typical liberal pie in the sky stupidity, I work for a major Midwest university, what he is describing I am already under. The university provides healthcare for it’s employees at it own hospital and network of doctors. It is already an ACO, with BlueCross/BlueShield doing all the math this year. What he is talking about is not a single payer system. Government run health will become a single payer system. No private company or even state run exchange can compete with an organization that is willing to go 17+ trillion into debt.

“when it is in fact 4.5 billion years old”…exactly who established this “fact”? And when? The origins of creation cannot be established in fact. Whether you believe in creation, which I do, or evolution, both are theories, not fact. Both parties come to the debate with their own presuppositions. Both positions require faith.

So when it says to love your neighbor as yourself, I don’t take that literally. Or do I get to pick and choose what is literal and what is not?

The way the article reads, we go from big business controlling the money to the federal government controlling the money…not sure which is worse…oh yes I do, the government controlling any money is a terrible idea…

VoteBushIn12, Read that verse a little closer and try several different translations and you will find that it states that if they hurt a woman an she gives birth, and there is no harm to the child then they pay a fine, but if the child is born dead then you shall pay, “life for a life”.

I have learned quite a bit over the past few years, and I have become quite libertarian in my views, but come on…all this brew haha, over how high his window is?! Really?! Roll the darn window down… The driver even admits that this is his attempt at exercising his “rights”. You cannot entrap someone then cry foul when they do exactly what you want them to do. You egg on the police they are going to assume you are up to something no good. We have given them tools to use to catch criminals. They used them in this case. Once again all this would have been avoided is the driver had just rolled his window down…

Your own agenda is shining through, both sides are right in this. Staples has the right to set the rules for their own contest, and the gun store has the right to protest those rules. The free market works only when all are free to choose what where and whom they do business with. I will say this though, lumping gun owners in with criminal activity is pretty stupid. But par for the course these days.

WOW…it is not 10 to 15% and God did not make them this way. Stop blaming God for peoples wrong headed choices. And yes they gay community is trying to tell the rest of us how to raise children, or what is moral or immoral. Not all are but the vocal ones and leadership are. They are truing to redefine marriage, through the liberal progressive movement they are trying to redefine how we raise our children and even what is being taught in schools.
Personally, I believe the state should not be defining marriage at all, if a gay couple can find a preacher that is willing to marry them then so be it, you and I or anyone else has not right to tell others how to live. We all will have to stand before God and answer for our decisions in this life.
