  Keaton…you pose a question somewhere further up in the comments about adding employees to an already bloated system in the hopes of streamlining it….The system is being abused, but you want to add more bureaucrats to it to fix it. No offence meant, but that is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. Cut the programs fix the abuse, return authority to the states and localities to help take care of their own, rather than some separated denizen of Washington…

  I have seen it written a few times in the comments on this article, and we hear it ad nausem that planned parenthood does not use federal tax dollars to pay for abortion. While that might be technically true on paper, in reality if the money from federal subsidy was not provided the monies that they use for abortions would have to be used in other ways. So in reality they, if they get federal subsidy, and they provide abortions then federal tax dollars are paying for abortions…

  This vet voluntarily, and apparently knowingly as well, signed a contract that forbids the flying of flags on the porch. 1st amendment doesn’t apply to individuals or companies or land lords…it only applies to the general government. If he doesn’t like it then he can break his lease or live with it till it expires and move. Better yet he can work with the owners of the property to exempt the flying of the US flag.

  The problem with progressives and leftists in general, is that they are relativists that do not believe in any absolutes. They truely believe that this time if we throw even more mney at the problem that somehow this time it will work. That is the whole problem we are facing as a society today and really everywhere on the planet. With no absolute truth whether progressive or conservative nothing can be true or just or good. What is good to me might be bad to you and vice versa. t all comes down to how I feel about something. Most people are loaded with relativism. That is also why people like Piers want to do away with silly notions like a written law, i.e. the Constitution, because then we have concrete absolute truth that is immutable.

  Chet no one is entitled to health benefits, if Hobby Lobby, McDonalds, IBM, or any other company offers benefits that is great. But, those companies do not have to offer them at all.

  enforcement of legal contracts is not “crony” capitalism…creating a lvl playing field for all under law is not “crony” capitalism and that is all our government was supposed to do. “crony” capitalism is government and business, big or small,coluding together to decide who can produce or not, or who gets tax breaks or not, outside of law or common sense…

  The constitution is not the “supreme” law of the land, it is a short list of laws governing what is the responsibility of the general government, and a a list of things that this general government cannot do. Then along comes the 10 amendment and defines who or what really has the power in this country.

  Gun control, free speech, free press, free religon, etc, etc, are not in the general governments authority to regulate at all. Now any state is free to regulate whatever it wishes unless it violates that states constitution.
