I agree with Cruz in the sense that after the attacks on his wife and family he should not be obligated to endorse trump HOWEVER, if that is how you feel (which is an appropriate response) don’t accept an invitation to speak at the RNC where you are expected to fully support the nominated candidate.
Enough of this line of thought for me.
It's the "Republican" convention.
Not the "Trump" convention.
All the best to you and yours.
EROCK, I do not support any candidate from any party so I can assure you that I am neutral in this "drama". But your post here is the most thoughtful post I have seen in a long time on the Trump and Cruz feud.
Remember that Trump's wife Melania was trashed first by Cruz backers about a GQ front page issue. That is when Trump fired back.
Also the very first time I heard about Melanie's photos were from Glenn Becks radio show.
The one who backs Cruz couldn't wait to start the crap going. Glenn Beck thinks it's funny until it comes back to one of his friends.
erock33....why shouldn't Cruz be able to speak at the RNC, he won around 500 delegates so he has a right to speak. Sorry but research the history of Conventions and you will see that everyone who spoke at them actually supported the nominee. However, now that Trump is on the nominee then we are not allowed to ask questions and voice our concerns. Instead every person in the Republican party needs to line up, sign K U M Ba Ya My Lord, and vote as told. That sounds awful like the Democratic Party, but then again the Republican party has been moving to the Progressive side for some time now.
7 other X canidates have not endorsed Mop Head either, so where is all the hate for them ?? Last time I checked Mop Head ask Cruz to speak , plus the speech was submitted hours before to ALL of Mop Heads people. If Mop Head and his spoiled ass children (who are registered Demorats) had a problem with Cruz's speech then cancel it. Face it Mop Head is a disaster waiting to happen
erock33…one more thing, go back and watch the Anderson Cooper Town Hall that took place on March 29, 2016. Trump stated he would not honor the pledge then, however, no one wants to bring this up. So is it okay for Trump to void the pledge and go back on his word? Actually you don’t have to answer that question because it has been answered numerous times.
Here is why he did accept the invitation.
If Trump had apologized for the slander and lies about Cruz's family, I'll bet Cruz would have endorsed him. That would have united the party......two words. It never came.
I do not think Trump is a guy who can put aside his ego for his country though.
For Cruz to endorse that kind of man, he would be hurting his country by creating the notion that Trump is a worthy leader with the ability to think past his thin skin for the better of his country. How could you endorse a guy that isn't a real leader....just an opportunist?
Wow, catalyst. So now you are saying that even if Trump submitted to the emotional blackmail/coercion of an apology to Cruz, that Cruz would be the 'bigger' person in not endorsing Trump for falling for that emotional blackmail/coercion in the first place???
I'm saying Trump isn't man enough to humble himself enough to admit he did a wrongdoing..
That's why I'm nice to you because I don't want to have to humble myself..
Did Rubio endorse Trump in his speech?
It was not Cruz's people who tweeted the picture of Trump's wife, but a "Never Trump" PAC, in no way associated w/ Cruz's campaign.
How do you justify the attempt to portray Cruz as a serial adulterer, or implying that his father was involved in the Kennedy assassination?

West assumes that people who were actually considering voting for Hillary have enough intellect and integrity to process how corrupt and clueless she is. Big assumption.

@cbrian You made my point in sentence number two. We are just comfortable enough to be as mad as hell but not quite mad enough to do something truly mad. Now when we become like Venezuela where the store shelves are empty and a majority of people are going hungry, then you may see some action if guns have not been confiscated by then.

They don’t think people are stupid. They know most individuals with an IQ above a wilted house plant know she is guilty and should be in prison. However, the people no longer have any power to do anything about it. The law is what they say it is and they will decide who will be governed by it and who is above it.

Was thinking similar thing. The most corrupt, fraudulent, evil people in our country interrogating one of its arrogant corrupt citizens.

I wouldn’t say I want the next president to “not do a damn” thing because I want him to make working for government extremely an unattractive option for anyone looking for work. As of now, a government position is an ever growing blackhole of other people’s money. It never ceases to exist and sucks everything into it growing bigger and bigger yet never really providing anything useful. Every republican campaigns like Ted Cruz but none govern like him.

Agreed. As an individual who plays a variety of sports, I can tell you it is neither fun to play people who are far superior than you and it is definitely not fun to play people who are far inferior. If the scores are glaringly lopsided then no one benefits and they should seek a more competitive league and if they cannot find a more competitive league they need to individually seek to play on lesser teams so they can compete against each other.
Not me. I have had my a** kicked in a number of sports. I practiced more and considered closing the gap as a success. It made me better and I eventually started kicking the good players butts. At 60, I'm still competitive and always try to get better by playing with the best in can find.

Spanky’s message to children born with bone cancer and AIDS. “There is no God and you just have sh***y luck. Too bad for you.” Very uplifting Spanky, I suggest a different occupation than motivational speaker. I imagine your life is fantastic.

So when Mr. Fry comes upon a child with bone cancer he just says “wow that sucks to be you, you have nothing to look forward to so why don’t you die”. That’s one wise and compassionate dude.

That is the great thing about God, he does not force you to believe in Him. C.S. Lewis said it best. The believer says to God, your will be done. To the non believer God says, your will be done. Hell is defined as eternity without God and He would never force you to believe in Him.

I have never seen more blatant, venomous, malice contempt for this countries citizens from its government then our current government, both democrats and some republicans.
Erock, you just hit the nail right on the head! Obama has shown the patriotic liberty loving people of America what his true colors are! As if we didn't already know! He loaths America and the liberties we have, he loaths the Americans that have made this country the greatest nation on the planet, he loaths anything to do with Christian principles or Christian morals or Christian anything and of course he has a senate full of limp-wristed mealy-mouthed lackies that are scared to death of any reprisals he might make if they so much as disagree with any of his Socialist bullcrap! Then on the other side of the table, the Republicans that have jumped ship and want to align themselves with the obamanation cadets are nothing more than Benedict Arnold wannabes. The sadest part of all is the "52%" that Romney got in so much trouble talking about, the social bums that don't work, that suck our economy dry through all the Affirmative action programs that cost us taxpayers through the yenyang, they still think he's the greatest and they don't have a clue that he has sold them out to salvery to the state along with flushing America down the toilet. They won't realize it until the day comes that their dole checks aren't in the mail and their freebies shutdown and they have all those mouths to feed! Talk about whining and hollering! I can hear it now! "What de bossaman adoin' to usn'"

As a Royals fan I like your icon, however, this horrid law that was approved by congress despite what the citizens wanted and then rewritten (as if it had the authority to do so) by the supreme court (john Roberts specifically), will end up being as effective at providing quality healthcare to citizens as the Royals have been achieving another trip to the world series in the last 20 years.
February 6, 2013 at 10:12pm
Can we just call Rove and republicans like him “democrat lite” and be done with that part of the republican party?
February 6, 2013 at 3:26pm
How do individuals honestly reconcile with themselves that they are good people when they advocate corporations pull funding from a very moral, upright, good intentioned program like the Boy Scouts and turn around and advocate for the right to kill unborn children as a form of birth control? We are living in a very unique and twisted time. Right is wrong and wrong is right.

MLK’s dream is fulfilled that one day we will all be judged by the content of our character rather than the color of our skin…….mmm…well…maybe not.

Lobbyist already run our government. What is required is term limits with the concept of no association with lobby groups for ten years after leaving office.
January 25, 2013 at 9:23pm
Pointing out liberal hypocrisy is too easy. They argue that you cannot tell a woman what she can or cannot do with her body yet wholly embrace Obamacare which has 2400 pages of how the government will dictate your personal healthcare decisions.
