Of course, that means that the schools won’t meet their minimum testing participation number, which means they won’t qualify for federal programs, and ultimately (after 3 years), the federal government will take over administration of the school district. Not that the federal gov’t doesn’t already try to control everything in your school district, already.

So do any communities actually pay for their own schools anymore without funnelling all their money through the federal beaurocracy? If every school is going to suffer, wouldn’t it be smarter to not send the local tax dollars to the feds so they can take their chunk out and send it back? Why are local school districts begging the feds for money? The federal money comes from the local taxpayers, yes? Why isn’t the local taxpayer allowed to give that money directly to the school district?

I never understood why they would pass a law, and then exempt half the people (or companies) it’s supposed to apply to. Why bother making the law in the first place?

He was 30. I’ve gone months without talking to my mother before. And I have no reason to believe that if I died today, that the police would be able to figure out who she was or how to contact her.

Yes, mistakes happen, but this wasn’t a mistake. They tried to find her. Nothing worked. They left her a message on Facebook, hoping they would have more luck. They did. It’s not like they knew her number and ignored it, and new her address and ignored it.

I too, have had to hunt down people to notify them of such things. It’s not as easy as you might think. Where do you think the police get information? How would they know if she’s moved or changed her telephone number? If she’s not in the phone book, and she’s never had contact with the PD, then the PD has no clue who or where she might be.
