  • You do realize that “Polar Bear” hunting is now an “urban sport” in which a black person, or members of a predominantly black gang, select at random and attack a white person? Search on the phrase [ polar bear hunting ]

Interestingly, the “urbandictionary” website has apparently scrubbed any mention of it being black on white violence in that particular definition. In my latest online search, it’s the only resource reporting/discussing “polar bear hunting” where that detail is omitted.

  • NO new laws are required. Laws already exist to handle the “scanner visibility” and “manufacturing” issues raised.

As usual, the politicians just want to LOOK to their supporters like they’re doing something by passing REDUNDANT laws.

People already have had the ability to make the same level of “plastic” gun for YEARS using off-the-shelf CNC manufacturing equipment controlled by PC control data files…EXACTLY like these 3D printers use. CNC equipment can work with metal, wood, OR plastic (etc).

Why do you think this group waited until they had their federal firearms license to make some of the parts? To comply with the EXISTING laws.

All 3D printing did here is made it somewhat easier.

  • March Issue ‘Psychological Bulletin’ (American Psychological Association): study concludes “…playing violent video games increases violent thinking, attitudes and behaviors among players. And it does nothing to promote positive social behaviors.” This STUDY ANALYZED ALREADY EXISTING STUDIES of 130,000 people from the U.S., Europe and Japan. “(violent video gaming) desensitizes users and is associated with lack of empathy and a lack of “prosocial” behavior”

  • Haven’t you heard? People who don’t participate in social media (esp Facebook) have been labeled as “suspicious”, “loners”, etc. Some business HR departments have even apparently raised red flags when someone “claims” to not have a Facebook account (similar response when an applicant won’t supply their Facebook password to the business (even though I think that’s against the Terms of Service)).

Yet, according to numerous news reports…if you DO participate in social media (e.g. Facebook), the government may consider you a terrorist.

    Heads you lose…tails you lose.

By the way, because of recent court case losses, I read that RECENT legislation has been attempting to modify cybercrime laws to CRIMINALIZE people who lie to or don’t comply with the Terms of Service of private online businesses (research that if you don’t believe it. Articles: “DOJ Wants ‘Terms Of Service’ Violations Criminalized”, or “CNET has learned that the Justice Department will ask Congress to make sure “terms of service” violations are illegal, imperiling anyone who dares to fib about their weight, age, or name on social networks.”).

  • Rep. DeGette, any attackers don’t need “firepower” to injure, cripple, or kill someone…especially someone as old as what seems to be one of the people you work for. Your reference to relative levels of “firepower” is disingenuous to say the least…arrogant at worst. One person armed with a gun can delay or stop the attack of several someones armed with knives, clubs, etc.

“You’d probably be dead anyway if they had that kind of firepower,” she added.

  • INSTANTLY brought to mind childhood memories of Marvin the Martian’s response to Bugs Bunny with a huffed-out and hands-clenched “You have made me very angry.”

“I find it very frustrating and I’m getting very angry about it…”-Piers Morgan

  • What an ego the lawyer has! In my opinion, someone claiming superior knowledge by saying “I have the credentials” means very little these days, even if those credentials are from “good” schools.

I’ve known real-estate attorneys that couldn’t read and understand a contract unless it’s a “boiler-plate” contract. One attorney actually got very upset, almost spitting mad, and tried to tell me that a printed/type-written contract can’t be modified by hand-written changes (they can).

  • Millions of bumper stickers must now be changed to remove causes of additional ‘emotional devastation’.

    Before:
“Our daughter is an honor student at (school name) High School!”

    Improved bumper sticker:
“Our young legal dependent of legally variable self-declared gender is a student at public school.”

Of course, that still has the potential to ‘emotionally devastate’ home-schooled and private-school children, but that’s the parents’ fault. They should be in public education facilities because parents can’t possibly know how best to meet their child’s education/socialization needs, nor do their children attend any public school ‘Honors Night’.

  • Shame on Graham and McCain:

    1) For not supporting a serious effort by a fellow Legislator to obtain a full and responsive answer as to the constitutionality of one of the current Administration’s legal interpretations/intentions;

    2) For not supporting a fellow Republican’s good-faith efforts to actually do one of the jobs the Legislative Branch is supposed to do (offset Executive Branch power-grabs)

  • I guess President Obama forgot that “After my election I have more flexibility.”, and thus believes he can’t explore alternatives to reduce the impact of a VERY small decrease in the planned (originally and still increased) budget.
