  • “Leaders are readers”.

In “Launching A Leadership Revolution” Best-Selling Authors Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady talk about leaders being “Hungry, Honeable and Honorable”. The Honeable part deals with learning so he/she can function better as leaders.

A leader will read a wide range of toics so they can develop the critical type of thinking necessary to operate effectively in a fluid business or military environment.

  • The prevalence of pornography is a huge factor in all of this. Men watch that kind of crap and it fuels the thinking.

There is also a decrease in the respect for others as individuals and their property. This partly stems from the idea that there are no absolutes of right and wrong and every person can decide on their own what is proper to do.

The farther we get away from Biblical principles and a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, the more problems we will have.

  • Jets Send Tim Tebow Packing

Just because someone has setbacks and hurdles to go through or over doesn’t mean his career is over. It just means there is the end of that particular option.

Tim Tebow will be a great asset to any team that will have the privilege of getting him. Leadership isn’t always done from the front, positional position. Someone with heart, self-discipline, character, work ethic, etc. like Tim’s is hard to find and he will bring the performance of the whole team up. Men/women who have those characteristics are inspirational to all.

Tim doesn’t have behavior baggage or self-aggrandizement issues. He doesn’t care who gets the accolades, he just wants to win and will drive himself and his team mates to do their best.

  • I find it very hard to call anyone a “fool” but here goes, Nuclear Demolition X3, YOU ARE A FOOL!

You know nothing of Mr. O’Brien except what you have read in this article. You don’t know where his heart is. You don’t know what his motivation is. You don’t know what his capability is. You don’t know jack squat.

This man is 30 years old and isn’t a mommas boy. He has become a Marine which shows me he has self-discipline, emotional strength, courage, etc. We should never seek to belittle one who has the courage to make changes in his life when he realizes the path he is on needs to change.

  • Mr. O’Brien is neither “foolish or gullible”. If you will bother to read the article and comprehend what he says you will find that a decision to possibly re-enlist is not being impacted by the events in Boston.

He makes the comment that being in the military is the “right seat on the bus” for him. That quote comes from Jim Collins’ book, “Good to Great”.

  • There is nothing to be forgiven for on the part of the one who sold the gun. There was nothing malicious or intentional done on his/her part.

It is tragic that this young man took his own life and I pray for the family as they work through this time of grief. May God give them the grace to handle the tough times.

  • When Will Family Come First?

    March 27, 2013 at 8:29am

Working with a home-based business is a very good match for many families.

We mentor with a young couple (33) who have 4 boys, 8 yrs. old and younger, and because they have applied themselves with the LIFE Business they are both at home. Being “at home” doesn’t mean they’re idle, it means that they have control of their time and they also have plenty of money to pursue their God-given mission.

There are options for people to pursue all of their priorities in life, starting with their relationship with God, family, business, church.

  • This guy is missing the point. We won’t sacrifice a pittance (any amount) of financial gain at the expense of standing for principles.

We have moved elsewhere and will continue not to frequent Starbucks, based upon their faulty ideology.

  • TRUESOUNDSOFLIBERTY, I hate to call anyone an “idiot or fool” but you deserve that title.

This young man was taking initiative and other people took notice and showed their appreciation. There is nothing wrong with his accepting a job or the transit pass that was offered by the city transit system. Orrin Woodward said, “what gets recognized gets repeated.” Let’s go overboard on recognizing good behavior traits and not just the negative behaviors.

This is not a case of liberalism or socialism. It is simply of case of decency and appreciation. We should each do this as we have the ability/capacity to recognize someone who displays the drive and work ethic to pay a price for the chance to succeed.

  • “Rasmussen Reports found that more than half the country, 52 percent, believe most people get rich by working hard. However, 28 percent believe most get rich by inheriting money and 9 percent believe it is luck that brings riches.”

Working hard is a necessary component of being successful, but it is only really a fairly small part. Working hard does not mean someone will succeed financially. If one is working hard at meanial labor job, that “vehicle” won’t have the capacity to generate much financial income. One has to apply his efforts, mentally and physically, in an area that has the capability to provide not only money but the ability to gain one’s time back.

True wealth is having one’s time and money but that may not necessarily mean someone is successful. Being successful may not really have anything to do with money. Being successful may mean someone is fulfillng their purpose or mission in life. Defining “success” is variable to each individual. If someone has moved from a bad marriage relationship and grown personally and now has a healthy marriage, are they successful? Certainly. If someone starts a business which becomes financially valuable but they lose the relationship with their kids or spouse in the process, are they successful? Absolutely not.

There is a statement that says, “the more prepared I am, the luckier I get.” Luck has very little to do with being successful.
