  • @Verceofreason- Homicide is not always criminal. When a burglar breaks into your home and you shoot them dead, their death is ruled a homicide. Far as I can tell from the story the cops didn’t mercilessly beat this man to death. He died after resisting and being handcuffed. It is shame that there was not a caretaker at the scene to prevent this from ever happening. Cops are always just reacting to The actions of others. Down Syndrome or not the man is capable of causing injury and he fought with the cops. I’m sure this guy was bound for a mental evaluation at the hospital not booking at the county jail. Do you expect the cops to let this guy, who was probably out of control and angry, put the public and them in danger?

  • From a cop’s prospective: There are too many unknowns to this story to instantly pass judgement on the cops involved. First, did this man attack theatre security before they called police? Second, did they tell the cops that he had Down Syndrome? Was the theatre dark or well lit? When cops contacted him did he fight? Are the cops even the ones that cuffed him or was he cuffed when they arrived? I don’t know or work with any “Nazi offspring” as suggested above. Most the cops I know are conservative minded people that aren’t out to kill the innocent and I guarantee these guys weren’t standing around laughing as this man died. Frankly to those that passed judgement so quickly from a MSM report you are no better than the sheep (Obama supporters) you make fun daily in these pages. I would have figured you all were smarter than the garbage you posted above.

  • From a cop’s prospective: You have to weigh several things here before you pass judgment. First, the crime report. How heinous was the DV? Did the suspect use a weapon? Did he threaten more violence when he returned? Second, is he known to be violent? Does he have arrests and convictions for violence or gang crimes? Did the victim say he was exceedingly violent? Does this cop know personally from past dealings with the perp that he is violent? Now to the point: this man is a suspect of violence at home against his wife. He arrives HOME and his WIFE is there. It is likely that if he fled, the HOUSE is likely where he would have gone. That would be a nightmare, hostage/ barricaded suspect. He is ordered to surrender and instead turns and reaches for his waist, hmmm. He then turns towards the officer with a knife or something similar in hand, hmmm. Twenty feet can be covered by a suspect in just over a second. If the cop lets him advance he might not be able to stop him before sustaining severe injury. The cop gives a final warning, “Stop or I WILL SHOOT YOU!” Sounds pretty clear to me. These are just a few of numerous considerations you need to take before calling the officer a coward or murderer or a cowboy with an itchy trigger finger.

  • Police Shoot, Kill Marine During Altercation in CA

    In reply to FanoftheFounders.

I am a local cop McPappy, you igit. I have taken people’s rights away in accordance with the laws established by the people and those that they put into office. I don’t go hunt for innocent people to kill or violate. I have never taken one’s rights away but on a warrant or probable cause. I don’t demand that the public bow before me. I am a conservative and no matter how much you want to believe local cops and deputies are unionized thugs, it is not true. I know my posts won’t change your opinion McPappy, but maybe somebody reading this with two brain cells knocking together will realize law biding citizens and local LE are on the same side.

  • From the local syndicate: “The department said its officers saw a fight break out in the parking structure at 275 S. Indian Canyon Drive. As they talked with the driver of a black Chrysler 300, some sort of scuffle broke out between its driver and the officers, according to Palm Spring police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff.

It was not clear of the Marine was in the car or outside it, but Kivaleff said both officers fired their weapons. Both police officers have been with the department for more than 4 years. They were put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the shooting investigation, Kovaleff said.” So the cops were there while bars closed, were investigating screaming inside the structure. The marine was identified by witnesses as someone involved in a fight. Cops contacted him, he fought with them, most likely outside his car. Got into his car while drunk and tried to flee putting the public at risk. He had one cop hanging out his window and struck another. Hmmm…. But the cops acted unreasonably…

  • Some of the most mundane contacts can quickly escalate into life threatening incidents. What you need to remember is cops are reactors. The last few years have been the most deadly for LE officers due to a horrendous economy and the deterioration of the judeao-Christian values this country was built on. Cops cannot control a person’s decisions, only counter them. Another consideration is that a cop has to make the decision to pull the trigger in a matter of moments. Failure to act can result in death or the death of your partners. We don’t know all the facts of this case, could be that the marine might have just mugged somebody and thought the cops were after him for that.

  • Some of the comments on this site disgust me. What you idiots don’t understand is most local police officers and deputy sheriffs are not only veterans but are typically conservative minded. I am a deputy sheriff and I am speaking from personal knowledge. In fact this last election bode very well for Mitt Romney at my station. For all you idiots saying the poor guy was unarmed, did you miss the part about using his car as a weapon, dragging a cop and possessing stolen property. It used to be that conservatives were the logical thinkers that did not react solely on emotions.

  • @VMACE seriously dude get some help!
