After all, it's not as if Trump "invited" Cruz to speak at this convention, right?
You just can never take that career outta the politician.
Cruz endorsed American principles and values tonight. He graciously congratulated Trump on his victory, but did nothing to disparage a man who lied about his integrity, allowed attacks on his wife, his father, even on his marital fidelity without a word or any apologies of any kind. He had a very difficult job to do without throwing all of his principles to the wind and did it admirably. I don’t think anyone had a right to expect any more of him.
Don't know how reliable this site is but this says a lot about Trump supporters. I am doing my best to support this guy but his supporters are making it very difficult.
The Drumfters showed some serious class as Cruz spoke. What a bunch of mo rons. And watch chief moron Hannity get a thrill up his leg tomorrow night when t'Rump excepts the nom.
Not the point Fellow Citizen and you know it! You are lost and also a weak man!
Thanks for the old stump speech Teddy. We don’t need your endorsement mister Cruz and you won’t get our support in 2018.
Trump rescinded his pledge to support the nominee back in March..citing that the GOP was "not treating him fairly." So no, Trump definately would not of.
I would have, but he didn't, time to move on.
The JUNIOR SENATOR from Texas is in "good company" of candidates refusing to endorse the nominee.
BUSH FIORINA KASICH GRAHAM CRUZ
Your statement is completely impotent, that ain't the case. Cruz lost, badly.
Good to see a man with conviction, a man who is not a whore. A rarity. Fox for Trump News is apoplectic. Trump disgraced Cruz's family, wife and father. That was a bridge too far.
Just saw Chris Christie calling Cruz speech "selfish"....that sorry SOB fake Republican needs to just go away. You have proven over and over again that you are the selfish one, you are sucking up to Donald because you think by doing so he will reward you with the AG or some other high position. You have proven over and over again that you are nothing but a Progressive Democrat.
Doesn't matter.... Your word is your word... I was a Rand supporter. then Cruz.. Cruz lost a lot of respect from me tonight. He showed tonight that he doesn't take his word very seriously.. maybe Trump was right Lying Ted held up tonight.
Listening to the booing crowd at the end of Cruz's speech I thought I was watching a DNC convention.
It looks like the herd mentally and bad manners are no longer the sole property the liberals.
I find the amount of fanaticism surrounding Trump the most disturbing. The heavy breathing at his every word has outpaced that of Obama.
Things you must give up if you wish to remain in the Republican Party; Freedom, Principles, Individuality.
I would mention the constitution, but the two major cults in America would have a hissy fit if it were to be removed from the dust bin.
Ted should have just mailed it in like Rubio did.
Marco's short strong show of support for the Party
. . . made Cruz look like a long winded whiney baby.
So CNN just had Michael Cohen, Exec VP of the Trump Organization and said that Cruz just committed political suicide for not endorsing Trump. He went on to say that Trump was an adult and Cruz was a baby. And that he should leave the convention. These people are making it very difficult to vote for him.
This is idiotic on both sides. We can argue these petty childish endorsements later when Hillary is defeated. Focus one step at a time, the Clinton Machine is ruthless as it is evil and it must be resoundly defeated in the strongest possible way. This is a war, we can argue nation building and the future later. Cruzers and Trumpbots, save your feirceness for that hag or there will not be a country left worth fighting for!
All of you, what Cruz said or didn't say is immaterial. Country First, not Ted or Donald, country first. When the democrats are broken and Hillary's pants suits turn orange then we can argue Trump vs Cruz. I don't care.
Hillary buried the hatchet to usher in 8 years of tyranical rule.
Conservatives like me must bury the hatchet for our nation's survival.
If Glenn's predictions are accurate Trump vs Cruz wil be as important as a passing fart.
Oh and on a lighter note: how freaking hot was Megyn Kelly tonight....dang....
Of course he would have. He stated throughout the primary that he would. So did PETTY TEDDY... what a sniveling, childish hypocrite... no wonder he hasn't a single friend in Congress.... unless PETTY TEDDY retires, he'll be cleaning toilets in the Capitol building for the rest of his career.
I was a Cruz supporter but after this I want nothing to do with the guy. The fate of the country is at stake and he decided to be selfish. Why even come to the convention? At least Kasich didn't show up, instead Cruz made our whole party look bad. This isn't an election like we have ever had before. Cruz knows this and he still pulled that BS of a stunt. If we don't win this election, we will not have an America. You can bet America as we know it will be gone. Just look at the damage Obama did in 8 years. This election will turn out like Romney's if you don't get out and vote for Trump. Put your ego to the side and suck it up you a$$hats.
Cruz is Paul Ryan!!!!!!!!!
37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
CRUZ LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRUZ SINNED!!!!!!!!!!
You have been duped.
Cruz is a career politician. = a liar votes for the people when it doesn’t count.
A POLITICIAN CANNOT FIX AMERICA!!!
A POLITICIAN CANNOT FIX AMERICA!!!
A POLITICIAN CANNOT FIX AMERICA!!!
WE THE PEOPLE AS THE DECLARATION STATES ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN FIX AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My respect for Cruz just shot through the ceiling... Of Trump Tower.
Conscience and the Constitution get boos.
Like when God was booed by the Dem's in a ironic way, the crowd wants Barabbas.
God help us, the few who still serve Him.
I do, however, I never once thought that he would ever lose to Cruz, maybe Rand, but never Cruz.
Trump knew of Cruzifers speech ahead of time and he planned accordingly. The master played Lyin’ Ted.
Trump showed the world tonight that Cruz always thought more of himself than his country and Party. He was never going to put the people, our country or the party ahead of his own selfish desires and ambitions.
Lyin’Ted is just another King Obama, a deceiver, Cruzifer in the flesh. Once again Trump showed that the guy who ran on a “Christian” platform is nothing but a selfish liar by not honoring his word or the pledge he made in front of millions.
People will never forget it. Tonight’s speech will be used against Ted in any Republican or Democrat race that he runs. Stick a fork in him, he is done!
I have no idea how this election will go. If Trump loses to Hillary the GOP is done. Its going to be the lowest voter turnout in history. The parties have failed the people. Its time for the conservative grass roots of this party to start a new party that listens to them. The hostility toward Cruz was not from conservatives and freedom loving people. The GOP is dead. I don't think the party can be salvaged. Too many people in this country don't care anymore and they take their freedom for granted. I for one am done with the GOP. I will proudly cast a write in vote for "Rafael Edward Cruz".
That isn't the point. He did win and hypotheticals mean nothing. Cruz broke his pledge, plain and simple. The fact you are willing to cover for Cruz on this says much about you and those "conservatives" like you.
Yep, all you so called conservatives, especially the Evangelicals ones who opted for Rodney Dangerfield - Trump instead of Cruz, Blew-it! You saw tonight a man who is principled even if his own circle sold out. Plus the Brown shirt Trumpters were on full display for the world to see tonight and I still have my write-in candidate, a man of integrity - Cruz...
What you suggest is speculation, pure and simple. Completely un-provable to any reasonable person. What is beyond question, however, is that Ted Cruz signed a document and swore before God and the American people that he would endorse whomever was chosen by the people. Speculation does not change fact, and fact of the matter is that Ted Cruz proved himself to be a paler Obama. Another Senator with absolutely zero accomplishments lying his backside off expected to be handed the Presidency as if he had actually accomplished something based on good sounding, hollow, but good sounding words. Man, Glenn Beck has accomplished more than Ted Cruz has, and that is without all that Goldmann Sachs money. Don't forget this in closing, Ted Cruz is not Jimmy Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Mr. Smith actually changed hearts and minds through his filibuster; Ted Cruz did nothing but fund raise off his.
Did you give your word?
I do not care what other people have done with their word or what you may think others would have done.
Did you give your word?
Where is your honor?
No, I think Trump would have given the Clinton Foundation another million dollars had he not gotten the nomination.
Cruz proved tonight he says what he means and he means what he says, the same cannot be said of the Republican nominee.
they all signed a pledge to do so, didn't they?
how many ex-candidates are keeping their word? how many ex-candidates are showing, right now, their word is only good if they like the outcome?
Never had a chance, in June 2015 after everyone was out campaigning on useless crap Trump won the nomination when he said "We need a wall, We need to deport illegals and it has to happen fast".
I knew it was over then, you can even go back and look at my comments.
Actually, I think Trump would have endorsed Cruz, as long as something was in it for Trump.
Cruz did a good job. He staid true to his core principles, and got booed for not caving.
He said nothing disparaging about Trump; although, he did somewhat dis the crowd that was chanting Trump when he said to vote.
I think Cruz needs to drop the NY values snark.
It hurt him in the race and it will continue to hurt him in 4 or 8 years, if he continues to go back to it.
I like that Trump chose a reasonably conservative running mate and that Trump seems to actually be listening to his running mate's advise on some things.
I like that Trump is now willing to do away with Common Core, has refined his immigration stance to one that will actually prevent terrorists from traveling here - instead of the throwaway line he started with, and voiced his envisioned O Care replacement as being based on free market principles.
@AB, I agree with most of what you said; but, letting Hillary win so you can say you stood on principles does not do any of us any good. SCotUS is up for grabs. The Dems must not be allowed to have it.
In 4 years, if Trump reneges on the promises he’s made, Cruz will have another chance.
And, just to be on the safe side, if Beck and the other Never Trump elites, start grooming a socially popular, politically small government conservative, Libertarian candidate now, then R and D need not remain the only choices 4 or 8 years hence.
Trump gave Cruz his bully pulpit and Cruz threw the American citizens under the bus,,,leave the dog whistle “vote your conscious” (yea, he gave #nevertrump ammunition) out and endorse “we MUST defeat Hillary Clinton, now” and he would be in good favor without endorsing Trump…
…giving Glenn and those here the ability to denigrate OUR nominee has destroyed Cruz for me in the future…Mike Lee also tarnished himself this time around…Cruz and Lee have a chance between now and the election to regain my future vote if they strongly support beating Hillary Clinton THIS election…if not only Trump will receive my vote in 2016 when I am in the booth voting my “conscious”…then if there is a Constitutional candidate or Libertarian down ticket they will get my support…if not I will abstain from the Republican candidates…
Now, do the right thing Ted (Glen) and support DEFEATING Hillary….
It's even funnier when you consider the fact, Ann Coulter had the nerve to say that Trump was bringing unity to the Republican party. And Cruz comes out tonight and sprays a big ol' can of "B* be Salty!" all over the convention floor with his speech. Man the Trumpeters on Twitter are like 30lbs of salt lick and one cup of water between them!
Cruz didn't win. Yes he would have.
Being a Republican is much like being a Jew. Everyone hates you, but the question is
Are you in or out?
It certainly sounded more like cheering than boos to me. Loved the speech. Regardless of who you steadfastly support, what is wrong with voting your conscience? Who says you have to be forced into picking someone that someone else says you have to pick? Freedom folks. I still choose to be free. Damn the tyrants.
Exactly. Trump would have claimed he was cheated and probably endorsed Hillary!
But that’s really not the point. The way Trump’s people act remind me of some dangerous times. They are rabid. But not based on reality just anger. So angry they don’t stop and think about exactly what happened between the two. Cruz treated Trump fairly. The minute Trump started losing we saw him call Cruz a liar, his wife ugly and unstable, and his father part of the plot to assassinate JFK. That last part done AFTER it was clear Trump had beat Cruz, so he was just being a classless bully, and he knows it was a lie! (Just as him walking out as Cruz finished was being classless again.)
So, in that arena, Trump and his rabid followers expected Cruz to bend and kiss the ring? It was a great speech- outlining what was at risk here. And frankly, as a southern gentleman, I say Trump should count his blessings. If he had spoken to a southern man like he did Cruz about his family, the only difference would be Trump would find himself getting off the floor holding his bloody nose!
So take the great speech outlining what is important. The fact Ted “released” his voters to do what they think is right to vote against Hillary. And do not stay home. Take it and be happy, better than a bloody nose for sure.
Yes, fellow_citizen Trump would have endorsed Cruz had Cruz won. Don't try to justify this small professional politician lawyers actions by stating Trump is that small. You people defending Cruz are as pathetic as he is. Cruz will never win a National Election because he puts himself before Country. Sounds like someone else I know, oh yeah Obama, the Clintons and the Bush family.
Yes...Trump actually is a man of principles.Ted was playing up to his globalist handlers
Thank you, Ted Cruz...
Thank you, Glenn Beck...
...today, with a clean "conscience", I official announce that I will vote for Mr. Trump for President!!!
So Cruz comes out and says vote your conscience and vote with principle and all the Trump supporters get mad and say “well, Cruz told his supporters to vote for someone else.” I guess that means even Trump supporters understand that voting your conscience and on principle means you can’t vote for Trump. - SyracuseCoug
Cruz is just like his daddy, Glenn — both are two faced!
Whatever works for them..
- Trump 2016 -
exactly. I now know that Fox news is fully in the tank or fully up another orifice for Trump. I still support Cruz because as has always been the case, he does what he says and says what he does. no duplicity at all. time will tell just how orchestrated this all was by the Trump Campaign. I still feel as this is a huge sandbag job by Trump to usher Hillary into the whitehouse so he can profit off the billions in deals she will send his way when he finally tanks.
What he would or wouldn't do is not the point it is all speculation! What Ted Cruz did is fact and in the here and now. He is not a Man of his word.
Cruz went for the booz.
Thanks Trump for lowering the bar....thanks to many of his supporters for continuing to lower it further.
They look and sound like a bunch of adolescents that can't think any further than the next episode of family guy.
Welcome to the new "normal".
The American Delegation of United States Republicans have overwhelmingly endorsed Donald Trump, with Historic Numbers!!!!
Ted Cruz is not a man of his word!!!! He did "Sign a Pledge", and now has showed all of America that he is "LYIN' TED"!!!!
There sure are a lot of crybabies out there!!!
Good for Ted. The only man in DC with principles. I'm sick to death of all this:
"We love freedom!, Now shut up and do what you're told!!!!"
"We love freedom!, Shut up and vote our way!!!"
"We love freedom!, Obey the party!!!"
"We love freedom!, All you Cruzbots suck!!!!"
"We love freedom!, All you Cruzbots can suck it. Shut up and vote for us!!!!"
Not too many years ago the Obama camp said "we will reward our friends and punish our enemies"
Last night was no different.... The public is screaming for a "strong" man...and they'll get him.........or her.... wanting instant gratification-----.. again.
SO........the description of ted from some of his fellow senators is correct..........ammo up
I hate Ted Cruz and I have no doubt he did this purely to get attention for himself
That said, even someone who hates him as much as I do has to say this: read the transcript - he didn't say anything anyone should disagree with.
Cruz should not have agreed to be a speaker if he was not going to endorse Trump. Conversely, Trump should have pulled him when Cruz told him he would not be endorsing him in the speech.
Cruz put himself before the Country, which is a consistent criticism of him.
Trump is a business man, a man of his word. Yes, he would have endorsed Cruz if the shoe was on the other foot. Unlike political hacks, Cruz, Busk and Kasick. Sore losers, all of them!
I have no reason to doubt that Trump would have endorsed Cruz if the shoe was on the other foot. He strikes me as a man who can take or leave his political career. But it is not on the other foot, and Cruz repeatedly stated that he would support the GOP nominee. I supported Cruz until he withdrew, and I would have again until I saw this speech. Trump was gracious enough to allow him to speak, and rather than reciprocate, honor his commitment, and do what he can to unify the party…he vomits up this useless drivel.
The man broke his word. Put a fork in him, he’s done.
Endorse Cruz? 3rd party candidates do not endorse their opponents, and if Trump had lost, he would have run as an independent. Let alone support or vote for them.
The Cruz line about "vote your conscience" was nothing more than the dog whistle for that never trump crowd. Hillary Clinton took the opportunity to tweet the exact same words minute after Cruz spoke.
Don't wonder why.
It doesn't matter as it is hypothetical. The fact is that Cruz let us down when it mattered.
Because the idiots actually thought that Cruz was nothing more than an act. that he would somehow, bend down and kiss Trump's pasty white/ Orange hairy ass and endorse him like Chris Christie and Ben Carson did.
Just what in the hell were you Chumps smoking?!?
Cruz is a TEXAN, he'll keep his word come hell or high water.
He has INTEGRITY, something that's purely missing from the final two candidates in this election.
Cruz is an American Icon, and worthy of the people's respect.
He had every right to tell Trump to Get Bent on a National Stage. And he didn't...
All of that Canadian BS you Chumps were shoveling, keep the receipts on those shovels, should you have to dig yourselves out of the crap hole you put this country in after 2019. Because the man you've elected to back is no damn better than Orrin Hatch. A damn weasel that blows a fuse when he doesn't get his way and will try school yard bully tactics to do so. That crap won't work against a true Texan.
After everything Trump did and said about Cruz to get this far, you may as well had squatted on his dinner plate and told him to accept it as is. That's the kind of B.S. that will get a slug in your backside real quick.
Too bad Cruz has more class than the average American...
Cruz asked that we vote our conscious. And I sure as hell will. I'm voting for State and Local only.
Go run to Twitter crying, with your red Trump panties tied around your ankles. You made this crap hole, dig your way out.

Pull all of our people back to the states and glass the whole region before these sub humans get here in numbers. By then it will be too late.
 July 19, 2016 at 11:06pm
Ann, put – the – pipe – down.
 July 19, 2016 at 1:34pm
That’s pretty unlikely since the president is one of their biggest supporters.
[-1] July 19, 2016 at 11:01am
Hoo76 – Perhaps. Then it’s a good thing that many Trump supporters don’t conduct themselves like that anywhere else. Except for: Facebook, Twitter, Breitbart, and everywhere else where people are allowed to comment.
 July 19, 2016 at 10:27am
A lot more than that hood rat.
 July 19, 2016 at 9:10am
So, a POS hood rat who sings F da police, won’t change the lyrics of his song. That’s quite a revelation.
Yes, they are the worst of us. I realized this election, that some of the things Democrats say about Republicans are unfortunately true. But it is the minority of the party, The Trump wing. They are the people the democrats always point to when they try to paint the whole party in a negative light. They are the ones who give the rest of us a bad name. The uneducated, unhinged, obnoxious, side of the family. They were so easily conned by a liberal democrat.
 July 19, 2016 at 8:46am
If Trump loses it will mostly be people like you who are to blame. People who didn’t get the memo to stop acting like obnoxious a-holes after the primary was over. Maybe your mind is too simple to process this, but many people will not vote for Trump, because they can’t stand the thought of somebody like you being on top for the next four years. Stop acting like a spoiled 5 year old.
Don't worry to much about that. There are only about 300 peeps that come to the Blaze
Hoo76 - Perhaps. Then it's a good thing that many Trump supporters don't conduct themselves like that anywhere else. Except for: Facebook, Twitter, Breitbart, and everywhere else where people are allowed to comment.
 July 18, 2016 at 11:46am
The difference is that BLM is far more dangerous than the KKK presently. They have the president backing them along with the media and other political leaders. The KKK is an old defunct democrat organization that nobody takes seriously anymore. To your point, you are right that the KKK of the past is equal to present day BLM.
 July 18, 2016 at 10:55am
I completely stopped watching Fox last summer, but it’s been years since I watched Shemp Smith. Smith is an out and out radical liberal. This should be a surprise to absolutely nobody. There is an untapped market on tv for an actual conservative network. Not “Fair and balanced” where we see radical liberals spouting their Marxist talking points, to be countered by an alleged conservative. (Which is usually a moderate at best)
IF somebody with money had ANY brains, they would buy up one of the liberal news networks, completely clean house, and go full conservative. Fox would be lucky to get the ratings of MSNBC if that happened.
