Pretty Scary: Meet This Newly Discovered Face-Size Tarantula

All you blaze commenters need to chill the heck out. Politics aside, Keaton is right. I’m sorry if you don’t recognize that discovered doesn’t just mean they saw it and went “Eureka!” And where do you get off saying that the scientist is probably a liberal? Just because you don’t understand something or something someone says, they MUST be a liberal? You’re just as intolerant as progressive liberals and give us conservatives and libertarians a bad name. Grow up.
BTW Keaton, Congratulations on almost getting the degree. Bio major is really hard, they really through every type of science at you. I just switched out of it haha.

This is right next to my hometown -__- Heck I might even know a family member of John Mayer. Long Island Police departments (Suffolk and Nassau) are EXTREMELY corrupt. They protect each other and any other union members before they’ll protect justice or even–by personal, firsthand experience–actual physically harmed victims, even if the union member is the one that committed the crime. They love the “good old boys” philosophy; they’re just as corrupt as the slimy liberal politicians there.

This kind of stupid behavior is just disgusting to me. I’m 18, freshman in college. Apparently this same kind of thing happened in my hometown, and killed a high schooler. Everyone is mourning and saying how great of a kid he was (even know everyone admits they never knew him), yet no one points out or talks about how STUPID he and apparently four friends were, trying to cross tracks when a train is due. I get grieving and being sensitive and all, but why does no one point out how stupid these people are?

You obviously know nothing of fraternities and sororities. You gain a great brotherhood or sisterhood that will be with you for the rest of your life, you gain a great resume booster, and you gain the chance to participate in a leadership position. What do you lose? Nothing. You go through some stuff that binds you to your brothers, what’s wrong with that? Unless you’ve talked to or heard from someone that’s actually gone through it and know what a fraternity is all about, you shouldn’t be judging them as insecure or stupid. And gangs? Are you kidding me? In my fraternity we have five brothers that have been on Dean’s List for every semester in their college careers, and the rest of us have an average GPA of 3.5.
About us being democratic, you literally have no idea what you’re talking about. 99% of fraternities are republican. Just because you don’t understand why people do things doesn’t mean they’re automatically a democrat. Imbecile.

I’m not too huge a fan of Pike (I have a couple friends in there though) but “hazing” is not a bad thing. Yes, when it gets crazy like actually endangering a pledge’s life things need to be done, but this kind of thing is fine. As a pledge I wanted to change how things worked, but once I got in I realized just how important it is. Fraternities are a brotherhood where everyone is united. You build that bond by going through pledging, not only with your pledge brothers but the entire fraternity. All my brothers went through the same exact thing I went through, and there’s a bond that non-greeks just don’t understand that is built through that.

So if the patrilineal surnaming started with the Bible, then why, for CENTURIES, did last names change with each generation? The Anglicans favored this highly, with last names often telling where a person was from.

“People assume that time is a strict progression from cause to effect, but actually from non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.”
See? The Doctor already figured out how Time works.
