To blame Obama for something that done down in the bowels of the military is just plain silly. As many presidents have learned, at that level Presidents have little power to either start or stop anything. As Dick Cheney has said, when you finally get your hands on the levers of power, you find they aren’t connected to anything. John Kennedy complained about the same thing.
We are headed toward tyranny, it seems, but if anyone is to blame for it, it is Congress. For fifty years they have shirked their duty and have ceded more and more power to the President. They have the power to take it back but they are far more interested in re-election than they are in taking the responsibility for governing.

They won. That’s how democracy works. Better luck next time but for now, stop whining.

So how exactly does the democratically elected leader of a country lead a coup d’etat against himself? That is what a coup d’etat is, after all. Rush and his dittoheads are once again acting like simpletons.
Another mindless liberal. How does he lead agaist himself, no hes leading it for him. I dont think he feels hes just about finished implementing facism and collectivism of he leading the coup d'etat against the system that impleaments those restrictions against him. Of course you cant see that because your are blindly lusting for gay sex with children while sitting home collecting checks from hard working people while idolizing obama and lady gaga and satan while hating god and doing drugs with prostitutes of the same sex. Enjoy as much as you can as an eternitty of hell awaits.

If one were to look at the body counts between socialism and religion, religion has the current lead in the race. Now if the contest were between Communism and religion, I believe that communism is in the lead. But Communists are generally thugs, Socialists are generally civilized.

Stephen King is a fiction writer. That gives him no special knowledge of the truth. He’s entitled to his belief as are atheists to their non-belief.

“According to Home Office figures, there were 59 firearms-related homicides in 2006-07 compared with 49 in the previous year. That is an increase of 18% in just one year. There were 507 serious injuries from firearms – more than one incident a day. ” On the other hand, we have over ten thousand firearms-related homicides each year. 59 there, 10,000 here. Real gun control works whether you like it or not.
"real gun control works", yeah, in favor of criminals and corrupt politicians!
However, hot burglaries (where the residents are home during the crime) increased highly 'cause the criminals knew their "workplace" was safe for their offences. And the perps knew the courts would protect THEM instead of the law-abiding. Murder didn't fall, just done by other methods. Killers kill no matter what weapons are available.
Your gun control support is miss applied! It should be gun aim control. Hit the target!

It is a shame that those who make disparaging comments about Al Jazeera haven’t taken the time to actually watch a few of its news shows. Frankly, it is heads and shoulders above anything we offer here in the U.S. When I first started watching (via the Internet as my cable provider doesn’t carry them) I was quite surprised at their broad coverage and at its quality and objectivity. To some extent it is what CNN should be. It isn’t entertainment, iti s news. Like real news, it is sometimes uncomfortable, but it’s real. Try it, you’ll be surprised: http://www.aljazeera.com/watch_now/

I meant to add – you are also less likely to be killing your neighbors by accident because of the rapid degradation of velocity of buckshot vs. bullets.

There are no 100 round magazines for 12 gauge shotguns. – most have just five or six shots. And frankly for home defense, the 12 or 10 gauge shotgun is far better than any assault rifle knock-off. Even a .410 will do a better job as one 3 inch cartridge holds five 00 buckshot any one of which can be lethal. One doesn’t need to be a Rambo to protect one’s home.
I meant to add - you are also less likely to be killing your neighbors by accident because of the rapid degradation of velocity of buckshot vs. bullets.

If this was being done methodically we could do far more reduction – what we are doing is utterly irrational. I’d much rather see us shoot for a DoD budget reduction of 10% per year for six years. We’d wind up with a very strong but much leaner military..

Amen to that. If we are unwilling to compromise, then our goose is cooked.

The original sequestration bill had only cuts of programs that the Democrats liked. To ensure that the Republicans had skin in the game too, the White House insisted that the Department of Defense be given an equal opportunity to suffer.
Unfortunately, there is no one in charge of the Republicans in the House and there is a Kamikazi faction that likes the idea of us all becoming martyrs to their cause, so there seems no one in Congress trying to avoid this and no one for the White House to talk to or negotiate with. Feels a lot like a Third World country, doesn’t it?

Given the Muslim preoccupation with cleanliness, it is odd that you could claim that they never bathe. Perhaps you haven’t enquired as to the religion of the people whom you move away from. One shouldn’t demonstrate one’s ignorance in public.

Are people who suggest violating our Constitution and ignoring the fundamental pact that makes America strong our enemies. I submit that they are and that you fit that description.
December 1, 2012 at 7:53pm
You have no idea of what you are talking about, apparently. 1,042,625 persons received permanent resident status in 2011. Your number isn’t even one-tenth of that number. In my state about nineteen percent of the population is foreign-born. Thank goodness for that because these are the folks who will be paying for our Social Security because we have such a low birth rate.

How did you come to that conclusion? It’s completely at variance with the known facts.

I wonder what West would be saying today if Truman had not desegregated the military or Johnson hadn’t gotten the Civil Rights Act passed. Or if he hadn’t been able to live a decent middle-class life courtesy of the U.S. government throughout most of his life. Even today he gets his government pension check every month as well as benefiting from government medical care for the rest of his life. He’s clearly one of Obama’s 47 percent.
Yeah, all of that, just because he's a multi-decorated,combat war veteren..........

This is a great piece of news, not as great as knowing that Alan Grayson will be back in Congress, though. He’s just as entertaining as West and far more sensible.

More likely they’d be aghast at your level of ignorace. You’ve been listening to Glen Beck too much. The election is over, it is time to rejoin the real world.

Now that the President has been re-elected it would be a good time to stop wasting energy on bashing him and start spending more energy on accomplishing something constructive. May I recommend a campaign to get all Americans to stop purchasing goods made in China? That single act would, if done by everyone, restore the American manufacturing industry, reverse our balance of payments, increase our GDP and help to pay down the debt.
What do you thinik?
