  • @GhostofJefferson Really. That is callous. You said, “…but let’s not start jumping on the bandwagon that says that every person who has ever put on a uniform deserves cradle to grave taxpayer financed socialist welfare.” The “shooter” isn’t asking for welfare (talk about hyperbole). His family’s life is in jeopardy because the pResident ratted him out like a good little “useful idiot,” cough**ValleryJarretttoldhimto**cough. When you do a covert op for the government and they blow your cover, it’s a reasonable expectation to have them put your family into witness protection. It’s conceivable that he’ll have terrorists gunning for him now. Your naivete (or purposeful obtuseness) is cute. I guess I played into your hands by even qualifying your comments with a response….

  • Wow, there are 43% of the people on “The Blaze” who don’t think the moon landing was real? I’m shocked. It’s been proven 7 ways to Sunday that it was real and now that Google can zoom into the Moon, you doubters can see the landing sites for yourselves. Mythbusters did an entire show on it in 2008 including the biggest complaints (as mentioned by Collins) and debunked every one of them. C’mon people. Think.

  • Or instead of your being so free with other people’s money, maybe you could donate a lot of your own money to help this self-sacrificing dog.

  • @Thdago said, “So M-THEORY, I hope you don’t cry after I comment on your losing remark. You missed the point…these are still children and the impact of a loss like this creates losers and victims (M-theory says: I didn’t miss the point. If they don’t learn when they’re children to cope with disappointment and loss, when will they learn it? They’ll grow up to be adults who cry that everyone should get a participation ribbon for just showing up and saying that score shouldn’t be kept)…probably much like yourself from when you missed the cut to be tuba player in the band (M-theory says: I have cried over a couple of competitions, like when my softball team lost in the state semi-finals my Senior year, but who said a few tears of disappointment aren’t a good thing, your attempt to be derogatory notwithstanding?)…and teaches the other team that it’s ok to beat up someone that is less skilled then you (M-theory says: beating up someone within the confines of the rules of the game isn’t a bad thing. If the lesser skilled person really wants to complete, it’ll make ‘em practice and try harder). A win-is-a-win and you can still instill competitiveness…As Americans we strive to not be the bullies even though there are elements in our society that want to be (M-theory says: good try on your touchy-feely “as Americans” speech, but winning big against a poor team isn’t being a bully, much as you like to think it is. Obviously, you haven’t done much competing

  • Maybe no one remembers Stu’s excellent blog a couple of years ago regarding a football team that did the same thing. The point of the blog was that it’s not the good team’s fault that the bad team is so bad, so why should they hold back? Will that help the bad team get better? Did the fans pay to see one team not play their best? No team should have to be worried about running up the score. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible and the team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. There’s nothing wrong with winning and winning big. Winners can exhibit sportsmanship by making sure they play by the rules, not participate in any unsportsmanlike trash-talk and by executing their plays that they have practiced for hours. Maybe the other team should practice harder or realize that they have two choices: 1) compete even though you know the other teams are better and you’ll probably lose, but maybe you’ll eventually get better or 2) don’t compete in events where the teams are better than yours.

  • RIP Larry. Thanks for the memories. You are synonymous with, “back in the good old days” for me.

  • Joe: you ask what IF a Christian were being abused? What IF the sky were blue? Christians are abused all the time and because they have the philosophy of turn-the-other-cheek, many feel that’s an open invitation to bash. Now, abuse from a coach or staff is never appropriate, but AJ could have handled the whole thing better. I agree with the other poster who felt AJ should have waited to the end of the season and quit in person. Why would another coach want to recruit a guy who’s shown that he’s not a team player?

  • All I have to say is, how is one game left in regular season and a bowl game considered, “leaving mid-season?” He’s hardly at mid-season that passed 5 weeks ago and weakens his storm-out.

  • Thank you, Mitt Romney

Hearing, they hear not. Seeing they see not. He is a man of character and integrity and the majority rejected him.

  • I don’t think he was saying we should hide them away. I think he was saying we should preserve a copy and hide the original away so there is always a copy no matter what becomes of this people. We have a Consitution that works and caused a nation of the freest people who ever lived on the earth. That is something worth preserving.
