  • You you people TOTAL morons?! He’s sitting there CRITICIZING Obama! Just because he’s pro-OWS for antisemitic reasons doesn’t mean that his values completely align with the majority of those at the OWS rallies! Hippies aren’t racist nazis. They may believe in the principles of communism (as in universal economic equality) which is totally misguided, but they clearly support tolerance for all races, religions ect. Those hippies may be a lot of things, but they’re not racist, or nazis, or antisemitic, and any implication of such is irresponsible sensationalism. Also, David Duke is not a hippie.

  • I don’t think Gervais would flinch at mocking Mohammad were that his target audience, just as the South Park guys have blatantly mocked Islam, only to have their NETWORK pull their show. He comes from a largely Christian nation, and in a free society it is the religion of the majority that will be lampooned the most. Just because something isn’t tasteful doesn’t mean a person shouldn’t have a right to do it, in our free society. The cowards here are the corporations who fear Jihad against their shareholders’ earnings, and won’t allow artists in their employ to criticize a religion that is clearly fundamentally flawed.

  • How did the article’s author get from the camp has “a variety of programs. There are informational lectures on world religions” to “further evidence that Atheism is, in its own regard, a “religion.” The premise of these institutions is to educate children about the tenants of non-belief.”?!?! I’ve been to a few church camps in my youth and we never discussed OTHER world religions, save for the mention of Judaism and Islam sharing the old testament with Christianity. I assume most readers here will think there is something horribly wrong with this camp, but personally I don’t see any harm. THIS IS AMREICA. Land of the Free, home of the Brave. Are we no longer brave enough to tolerate anyone holding views which oppose ours? Are others to be stripped of their freedoms to believe what they like and raise their children as they see fit? All I’m hearing is that there are outdoor activities and non-religious seminars, as long as there isn’t an underlying message to bear ill-will to Believers, I see NOTHING wrong with this!

  • And Abraham/Job/everybody-in-the-old-testament were polygamists… what’s your point? =D

  • NICE! LOL I’m going to use that! =)

  • People apparently just read, watch, listen to, and believe what they want to. THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION handed out the first half of the bailout money knowing that there would be more to come! How can you people REALLY be that ignorant of the truth when you’re clearly interested in politics?! I can appreciate that the same kind of partisan-born ignorance exists on BOTH SIDES of the isle, but I really thought that the more conscientious conservatives would have their heads screwed on straight more than the union-following libs! …or am I just surrounded by “I believe what mommy and daddy believed” conservative Christians who have never considered WHY they vote the way they do?

  • ….sounds like it’s just dangerous to the eyes, goofball. =D Try applying the scientific method to your observations, it will open a wonderous new world of reality to you! lol

  • SOME of “these people” are crazy and dangerous, not all! With the poor standard of living over there people are primed to believe whatever extremist leader shows up and tells them that western infidels are to blame for their lot in life, the same way our ancestors’ leaders were able to rally the serfs into crusading against them way back when. Yes, middle-eastern society has a long way to go before becoming truly civilized, but to act as if the religion itself is to blame is also crazy. The passages suggesting jihad are as numerous in the Quaran as the passages referencing homosexuality are in our bible. Opportunistic leaders who disproportionately focus on minuscule phrases in an enormous book (for their own selfish purposes) give organized religion a bad name across the globe!!!

  • Really?! ‘Cause Bush was “smart enough” (that felt funny saying) to get re-elected in ’08. Now, I’m not saying Kerry was any better…he AND Edwards are both tools, but everyone upset about Obama’s spending needs to reevaluate the job W did, because he played a big role in our debt as well….
