  • Seeing a member of your team, a brother, go down like that will get to you, I don’t care who you are. Especially in such a crucial and intense game as that one was. A brother went down, the team reacted. We are all human

  • Let me start by saying that I’ve completed Bioshock Infinite and that if someone becomes offended by a piece of art, then shame on them.
I am a conservative/libertarian college kid who frequents The Blaze. I am also one who firmly believes in art. Video Games are art. The problem that I have with some conservatives (especially in regards to guns) is that they are too worried about the 2nd Amendment that they forget about the 1st. Video Games are an art form, its undeniable. Bioshock Infinite is the prime example of this. I haven’t played anything like it since the original Bioshock. It’s a fictional story, that plays off of some history and current event elements. I never found myself offended by any of the themes of this game. I was too busy being engrossed in the story to be offended. It wasn’t meant to be offending, just merely offering one’s take on certain issues. And if you play to the end, you’ll realize that there isn’t much to complain about anyway.

I am a firm believer in free expression. Video games are the second biggest medium for this (books being the first.) I love talking about this type of stuff and am always up for a good debate. Send a tweet my way @ryanfinfrock to discuss.

  • Some people need to look past partisanship on this speech. Pat is looking after his family. He knows how good he has it and realizes that there are now some people who aren’t as lucky. He is speaking like a down-to-earth, non-political minded individual. Obama (despite your resentments) is supposed to lead. Something does need to happen (most people don’t know what.) But what Pat is focusing on is family and our need to return to traditional values. What’s so wrong with that? I applaud Pat Kelsey for using a platform to give a positive message.
